Speaking quickly doesn't matter. What matters is that if a foreigner, for example, asked you how to say the word, how you'd pronounce it then.

Hey, Emperor Gum, I see you're from Bath too. Awesome.

So, I'm recording the song right now, and the first two verses went well, but for some reason I'm having trouble with the verse where it goes all quiet.

For example:

"Want to go outside,
It makes me glad I'm not de - Oh, CRAP!"

Okay, here's my version. The digitized voice is far from perfect, but, to an extent, it works. I think I added in one word somewhere, and also ad-libbed a Jay Leno line (not as part of the actual song, but over on of the bridges).

I saw someone link to tally playing Rainbow Six Vegas as an example of why girls can't play videogames.

Sorry Tally.

Not bad, but there are audio glitches here and there in the lyrics, unfortunately...

Zivlok, If there's less than a day between your posts, and nobody has posted after you, you can just edit your previous posts with your new thoughts. I don't care too much about it, but some people can get real uppity about double/triple/quadruple posting.

Yeah, but that's just what happens with the filter. I decided to go with dying GLaDOS rather than multiple tracks of my regular voice. I mean, I could painstakingly record each line until all the little strange bits are out, but.... eh.

Also, about the double/triple posting thing - I just went by what the general consensus was on an old LRRCast, because the three posts were three different ideas at least 90 minutes apart from each other.

Sontimes I double- and triple-post. I try to keep myself from doing it. Paragraphs are intended to separate(sp? that looks weird) ideas.

back on the topic of the music; I'll give your rendition a listen tonight, Z.

Zivlok: those are some very distracting audio glitches. The vocals are also pretty relatively low; I had a hard time hearing them over the piano track (I'm a bit deaf, you see).

I liked your modifications to the lyrics.

It'd be funny for one of us to come up with a brand new melody for this song, sing it to that, and then do Still Alive to the new melody.

Yeah, the vocals get drowned out a bit at some points. If I have a lot of time on my hands, I might go through and get rid of the glitches, but... eh.

I think I may re-record mine, and bump the backing track up a bit. I think we still need to tweak the lyrics.

Nah, I'm at Bath Spa doing English Lit. So I take it you're from Bath, but now somewhere else? I'm from Cheltenham originally.

Oh, I'll finish my recording this afternoon. I'm lame sometimes. Sometimes.

I was preparing to find out that I, in fact, already knew you!

I come from Bath, go to Bath University, but currently live in London, working.

As an Englishman, I can confirm this is the correct way of pronouncing it. Trust me, I had a chat with the Queen, she agrees with me.

Why would anyone do CS at Bath? Of all the Unis I visited, it had the highest requirements, and the worst facilities. As far as I'm aware they don't even do research there.

I think your guitar's out of tune.

For some reason I was expecting a north american accent.

A bit of necro here.

I didn't want to post my version of the song, because for some reason I can't fucking sing it. I did a million and a half takes, and I still couldn't get it quite right. But you know what? I don't care anymore. I just don't care.

So here it is.

Sounds quite good to me, I don't know what problem you had with it. But I suppose we're all too critical of our own work.

Man, I can't believe I missed this! That's what I get for only coming here sporadically. If I have time over the weekend, I may try recording a version of my own. I really enjoyed listening to everyone else's attempts so far!
