...to educational TV programs for Kids.
When I was a kid, I remember watching The magic school bus, and Bill Nye, and Where in time is Carmen Sandiego.
I know there was a whole slew of other cartoons that I watched at the time, but do they have ANY equivalent Kid's programs on today? I watched Saturday morning cartoons with my brother the other day, and they didn't even have schoolhouse rock in between shows?
How are kids going to learn about conjunctions?
Was TV just better when I was kid?

I have to go with Bill Nye because, well, it's Bill Nye. They still show the show in science classes at my school. I remember the rest fondly too (except for 1,2,3 contact though, never heard of it).
And yes, TV was just better when you and I were kids.

Bill Nye (1993) actually premiered a year AFTER Beakman's world (1992), and Beakman's world was based off a comic strip called "You Can, with Beakman and Jax" which although wikipedia has precious little information on, is filed under "comic strips started in the 1980's"
So really, if anything's a copy, it's Bill Nye copying Beakman.

My next favorite was Reading Rainbow. Sesame street and the Electric company were also good (though Sesame Street is for younger kids, of course).
They just brought the Electric Company back, you know ( I know because I had bookmarks to give out at work).
I loved just about everything on that list. It's so hard to pick just one! Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego won out eventually, though, because of the music and the computer games

BILL BILL BILL BILL
BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY
I met him one time, and I have his book with his signature in it. Also, my dad worked for him one time, since his show was based in Seattle. My dad actually taught biology to one of the teenagers that was a regular occurance on the show. Pretty damn nifty in my opinion.
Although, I heard he's kind of a dick; a friend of mine was rallying for Nader a few years back, and Bill Nye went up on the stand and started ranting about how Nader was just stealing votes, thinking my buddy was just some punk kid, blah blah blah. Bill Nye got politically-schooled hardcore.
I still love him, though.
