At first I didn't understand. Then I watched the Unskippable Crossover and it all made sense and both videos (the Unskippable and the LRR'd-up Zero Punctuation) were wonderful.

But the extreme vulgarity caught me off guard, until I read this.

And then lights from the heavens shone down and everything made sense.

I don't think Graham should proliferate the ZP art, or at least not without asking Yahtzee first. If everyone starts making cheap ZP-knock-offs, that could be bad.

And yes, I deleted a post so I would stay under 1000 and be able to make this post. That's how important this is to me.

I came.

Alright, maybe not... but still. Excellent send-up of Yahtzee's show; clearly not meant to be a reinterpretation, despite how awesome that would've been, but a foul-mouthed take on his personal style that succeeded quite well. You two seem to be having a lot of fun taking potshots at each other, and I love it.

Oh totally.
We all had a blast doing the crossover.

And I'm just laughing at how much the people who post in his comment threads hate me.

So can we expect a Yahtzee appearance in a future LRR video?

Oh man the comments were stupid. Clearly some people don't read the things Yahtze posted at the end of his videos.

I, however, did enjoy it and I'm disappointed people didn't get the humour behind it. For example the fact you were impersonating Yahtze but only to prove it was easy (someone already mentioned this).
It was really too big:

I give you this instead

If people are so motivated they'd put together a full ZP animation, I think they'd be willing to recreate Yahtzee's character sprites, too.

I'm more curious as to when Graham found the time to do this, Unskippable, editing LRR videos, podcasts, etc etc etc. As I said in a different thread months ago, the man must never sleep.

Note however that the comments thread for the Unskippable has nearly as many posts in it as the comments thread for the Zero Punctuation.

Thus, Unskippable must be just as popular as Zero Punctuation because just as many people took the time to write about their enjoyment of your work and their respect for you and Paul. It's the only possible explanation.

Not that I ever suspected to the contrary, since you seem to be a very good-humored person, but you definitely have the right attitude about the internet.

Spot on. A great parody, no homage. It really captured a lot of Ben's writing style and comedy.

Didn't really expect that much praise in the Escapist comments.

The Escapist's forums are a step up from YouTube comments, not a huge step but still a step.

If you think the Escapist is bad you've clearly never seen the Gametrailers forums...
I've found the Escapist to be fine if you sift out all the awful threads: I think things have got worse as a result of the popularity of Yahtzee (something a lot of the older members think as well, hence a degree of elitism: preferring the days before the influx of newer, less 'intelligent' (for want of a better word) members).
The comment threads can get a bit bad at times, especially for Zero Punctuation, although some others are much better: the latest There Will be Brawl thread showed how mature the forum can be, as a video containing a scene with Samus as a stripper resulted in no 'lol bewbs' etc. comments (you can imagine posting that on Youtube...)

Thing is with youtube, when you go to really niche videos like barbershop quartet or kinetic typography, the comment quality skyrockets. Only the popular stuff attracts morons. ZP is fairly popular so I can see why so many idiots congregate there. Still annoying though.

A friend of mine went into a coma trying to come to terms with a gametrailers comment.

He got better.

Yahtzee is in Australia.

See any discussion on a live LRR event where the crew asks, "So who would be interested in coming to Victoria and meeting up for X?"

Response, "I would, but I'm in Australia."

Frankly, I found Graham on ZP funnier than Yahtzee on Unskippable. Seriously, Unskippable I found Yahtzee really bland, Graham hear I think nailed it pretty awesomely.

I also find Yahtzee taking our Graham to be hilarious, and I don't know why. :P

Um...Yahtzee did come over to this side of the blue marble on which we live to visit VALVe's main studio. Though I'm sure that was paid for on their dime and not his, it doesn't mean that it's impossible.

Besides, Yahtzee has his own camera (though not of the same quality as LRR's, the presence is undeniable). He could easily record something and send it over to Graham to have it inserted in a LRR video. It is possible, though improbable, is what my guess is.

The problem--and I am also being respectful in my disagreement--is that Graham doesn't seem to be that kind of comedian and though he did have some good lines and bits, it didn't seem to be fast enough or angry enough to be a proper parody or simulacrum.

It'd be like Eddie Izzard trying to be Chris Rock. It just doesn't work that way because though they're both comedians, Izzard is more improvisational and observational than Rock. Or it'd be like Dennis Miller trying to host "The Daily Show." It just doesn't go that way.

And YES. This is really only the most important thing to take away from this, Escapist-haters aside.
