I don't understand.
We feel free when we escape--even if it be but from the frying pan into the fire.

On the streets the people, speak of the legend that in the sewers is a secret gateway that leads to the under dark, the path is said to have been long lost to the passage of time, but there are rumors stirring in the pubs about a group of adventures who was overheard bragging about finding it. Now, they have gone missing and the common folk are in an uproar demanding the town leaders take action.

Every fifth day that it rains packs of small grey dogs appear on the streets. No one knows where they come from, why they are here or what thier purpose is. They are incredibly stupid and tend to little more than stare into space until they die from exposure or are carried away by sympathetic passersby. According to reports they taste of duck.
Moo hoo ha ha.

Re: D and D - The Endless City
Deep down in the sewers there is a dragon, which survives on rat-kings. It is ancient and surly, but since dragons are endangered species, no one's allowed to slay it, which would be useful to stop it from routinely lighting the sewers on fire with its fire-breath. It does this out of spite, for a few humans will always try to reason with it, and it sooo tires of rat-kings.

There is a street of religious fanatics numbering in the thousands. They're only regular people but they come in endless waves swinging clubs. They can not stand outsiders but their church is rumored to be loaded with riches.

Re: D and D - The Endless City
Every fourteenth day of every fourteenth month a group of cultists meet in a discreet alcove in the sewers to pass information of the underworld and bid worship to Vecna, dark god of secrets.

An evil wizard has assumed the role of a local nobleman, and has created a portal to the Underdark. He illegally trades and buys from drow and other races that make a living in a parallel city right underneath Borfest.
