Your very first game

What was the first game you remember beating all on your own?

Mine was Yoshi's Island on the SNES.
Ya know that scene in Robocop, where the guy melts? Her juices will do that to your junk.

I think it was Kirby's Dreamland on the Gameboy, although this was a number of years so I can't be sure.

Pokemon version red for sure.

EDIT: No wait, that wasn't for sure. It was Street Fighter II. Yep. I'll probably back to correct myself again in five minutes.

I couldn't remember until someone mentioned Pokemon Red and I remembered I had this GBC, on which I played... Pokemon Red.

Coincidentally, my mother is pretty good at raising pokemans.

I'm not 100% sure, but it was either SMB3 or Wolfenstein 3D.

I don't know about beating, but the first console game I ever had was a driving game that I didn't particularly like, that was on the Playstation. After that the first game I think we got was Future Cop LAPD which was absolutely fantastic in my opinion.
My first handheld game was probably a Pokemon game.

If I recall correctly mine was the demo for Duke Nukem on an Apogee demo disk. I played a bunch more like it, stuff like Commander Keen; Crystal Caverns; Blake something-or-other; Duke Nukem 2; Secret Agent; Rise of the Triad; .. some platformer that was controlled by both the mouse and keyboard.. ah, it was called Abuse; and I loved all of them.

Aw geez Rise of the Triad, that takes me back.

I've actually got Future Cop and Triad less than two meters from my desk at home.

I had my own TV Fun Pong clone console. It was powered by C or possibly D cell batteries & all the sounds came from the game unit. My next game was probably Combat for the Atari 2600, which I never owned until recently. I'm not as old as I sound, I just like playing with old toys.

I was gonna say Super Tank on our Amstrad CPC 464, but I'm not sure I did ever finish that without the cheat. So Flashback it is.

First game that I beat on my own?..

I think it was some contra clone on SNES that was alot easier than an actual Contra game.
At least that was probably the first one without game genie.
~I'm probably not serious~
Oh and you can just call me Dave.
No need for the whole screen name.
