Hagiography Today

Postby Paul » 28 Apr 2006, 16:13

This video was largely made possible by the Patron Saint Index

Interestingly enough, our quest for a "cheap cable access TV show set" resulted in probably the most set dressing we have ever done for a video.

Wow. That was truly amazing! ^^ I loved it. You've done it again, LRR! Super job. When I saw the title, I was scared it would be insulting, being a Roman Catholic and fond of saints myself, but it was amazing. I loved the line about Mary, Mother of God... xDD Sweet job, guys, keep it up. ^^ (I think I repeated myself a few times... ah well, you get the idea. ^^)

Quite incredible :D You captured the essence of cheap cable TV with a dash of professionally and a cast who is genuinely interested in a rather obscure topic and tries to put a fresh spin on something very very old :) .

Cinematographically it was well laid out :) Factually well done, and genuinely funny :D (how many books of saints did you go through? :P)

Graham... Damnit, man. I watched this on my laptop downtown today while I was waiting for a bus. People were staring at me because I was laughing so much. Doesnt help a priest gave me weird looks.

I love you guys, but personally, I think the last good video you've done was "Ways to Get Yourself Killed in a Horror Movie". The videos since them have just.. well, they haven't been as entertaining. I'm glad other people are enjoying them, though.

"it's the representation game" heh lol.
It was quite funny as in oz we have a local tv station and all the weekend is solely christian t.v
Nice work

Nice, Pythonesk.

So I guess the Roman Catholic church is not polytheistic

Eh, the concept was funny, but I wasn't entertained. I mean, I know it was supposed to be a little dry, but I was choking. LRR's ideas are consistently funny, and the script-writing is clever, but I'd like to see more dynamic plots in future productions. Sometimes it's a little monotonous, like with the silent game and snakes on a plane and such. Keep up the intelligent humor, and improve on more changing plots to keep those with shorter attention spans happy!

I liked it, a few things though

At the start when Graham says "Thank you, Ted" The sound is all off (don't really know if it matters though)
Also, what did I tell you about more shots? ;) Graham talking got slightly boring, but not as bad as the Sand Wich (Sandwhich man....Grilled cheese man).
My favorite part had to be all the icnos with the "Allrich" or "Ollrich" part near the end (I can't tell how to spell it ;))

All in all it was good. But I have to sorta agree with that guy, the grilled-cheese sandwhich man is starting to bore me. It's good dialogue and all, just extremely dry for me. Anywho, good job on this one :D

Wow guys. That's so out of left field - seriously.

But on a lighter note Catholicism in general is pretty funny, so this was a welcomed laugh. (Though for some it may have been too... intellectual?)

God, I should just go read the book of stan already...

Well I loved it!!

It's not something I ever would have thought of. I know absolutley nothing about saints, but I wasn't bored or confused. I thought it was very clever and well done. And completely random!

Good stuff!

Oh and I couldn't tell if Graham was wearing a wig or just really needs a haircut

It was a wig.
But I also need a haircut.

Valid points all around from everyone, thanks for being constructive!

Glad so many liked it too!

Don't pray harder; pray smarter!

I only know of that from Dilbert; replace pray with work. Is it from anywhere other than Dilbert?

I liked the video, quite different to your old ones.

The one with the fish and all that? Seriously? Wow....Even more points for not just making shit up, that it was actually real.

That was kinda scary. I like making fun of religion so that was interesting but I had no idea they had saints for so many and such strange things.

Overall nice to see you guys trying new things. Keep it up.

I liked the concept, I could tell it would be good just from the premise.

Also, props on the music.

"Patron saint of syphillus... and VDs"

Yeah, Syphillus is a VD. So booyah.

Decent show, but I've gotta at least somewhat agree with the others in saying that you've set the bar higher than this; it just felt a touch undercooked.
