Something that requires legitimate debate.(super extra nerdy

Postby Dave-O_Boy » 10 May 2009, 18:26

With the release of the new Star Trek movie, and old conundrum popped into my head.
Being an occasional trekkie (trekker?) and a mild Aliens fan, I've sometimes wondered what it would be like if the Borg encountered the Xenomorphs.
Before you dismiss it as fan-fiction nonsense, think about it. These two groups would be relatively evenly matched if it were one Borg Cube and on Xenomorph hive. Now I imagine them fighting of some human colony.

I don't think a Borg could assimilate a Xenomorph nor a face hugger be able to lay an egg in a Borg. Except if a human who already has an Xenomorph egg in them is assimilated.
~I'm probably not serious~
Oh and you can just call me Dave.
No need for the whole screen name.

I don't see why the Borg couldn't assimilate a Xenomorph. It might take them longer than normal to reconfigure their technology to deal with how acidic it their blood is, but I don't foresee that being much of a problem considering the extent of their technology.

In any case, we'd be screwed.

You just tricked people into entering a "Who Would Win In A Fight" topic. That's about the equivalent of a Rickroll.

At least this has an obvious answer of the Borg. On the xkcd forum there was once a long inconclusive discussion of the Borg vs the Zerg. That is a legitimate jerking-off dick-size nerd competition.

I dunno, I think it's entirely possible the Borg decended from the Cylon Centurions. ;P

Don't ask me what that has to do with the Borg vs. Xenomorphs though, I couldn't tell ya.

Zerg. Do the Borg have Mutalisks and motherfuckin Ultralisks? I didn't think so.

8472 is basically the Xenomorphs, or the Zerg, or the Yuzhan Vong or whatever "OMG IT'S HIGH TECH BUT IT'S MADE OF ANIMALS!!" or "SPACE MOSNTERS" trope you want to go for

It all depends on how competent you make the Borg.

Have the as the slow-moving hand to hand combat ones from TNG and the xeonmorphs can clean out a cube. Unless of course the Borg simply capture the xenomorphs with forcefields, though we've seen beings that can walk through those, it just causes pain.

Give the Borg some form of arm-mounted weaponry and they get the xenomorphs by pure quantity.

Borg vs Zerg => Borg win as long as they have a cube.

From the cutscenes, the individual Zerg units aren't that big, a cube outmasses them greatly and has a crapload of weaponry to boot.

The Zerg managed to beat the Protoss, and the Protoss could definitely beat the Borg in a theoretical fight, so...

Can't the Borg blow up planets?
It's seems like they could find the Alien queen and blow her up pretty quickly.

Not only that but the Zerg beat the Xel'Naga. The Xel'Naga having created the Protoss and Zerg for funsies.
I'm still trying to figure out why someone didn't tell me how awesome Muse is.
