Re: Playoffs
Boo pens.
I didn't watch it, but that seemed like an odd score to me, considering how close it was for the rest of the series.
Now Boston needs to win (we've already hit our Staal quota for the East final), and the Wings need to win (obviously).
Go wings!

Let's go Pens.
Re: Playoffs
Since my beloved Nucks are out, I've been rooting for a CHI/PIT final, though it looks right now I will only get half of my wish. My reason? Carolina and Detroit have won more recently and I hate when the same team always wins... (unless it's my team).
So I guess I'm rooting for the Penguins here on in! (Also because Marc-Andre Fleury is kinda HOT!)

Re: Playoffs
Really, you should be rooting for my beloved red wings, and only the red wings *grin*.
Pitt has pretty much won their series thanks to malkin and crosby. I'm a little worried if my boys make it to the final against them (though it would be fucking awesome to see that re-match).
Anyone have opinions on the Kronwall/Havlat hit? I'm obviously going to say 'clean', but I'd love to hear some dissenting opinions.

Re: Playoffs
I'm getting out my roomba because it's time for a sweep.
Re: Playoffs
*cracks knuckles*
Bring it on Pitt.
The first round: Detroit-Ohio rivalry
The second round: Detroit-Anaheim rivalry (3rd most faced team in the playoffs, lots of history against Pronger)
The third round: Detroit-Chicago rivalry, one of the oldest in hockey
The Final: Detroit-Pittsburgh
We have our axe ground and well sharpened.
*grin*

Re: Playoffs
If that wasn't the cheapest playoff goal this year, I don't know what was. A freak bounce off the boards, behind the goalie to a Red Wing just standing there thinking he lost his chance at a rebound. Not the way any team should ever be eliminated from the playoffs in any sport. Totally lame.

Re: Playoffs
Cheap? yes.
But would you complain as much if it had gone the other way?

Re: Playoffs
You obviously don't watch the playoffs much. Goals like the one in overtime between DET/CHI have decided playoff series for YEARS.
It was just a matter of time before Detroit scored, the pressure they were putting on was unreal. A goal was coming regardless. Chicago was just straight up outplayed by a more experienced, and deep team.
