so i'm new to xbox live

Postby spiterider » 08 Jun 2009, 21:09

Actually i'm kinda new to xbox all together, i mean i've played at friends and such but i'm told thats not enough. so i recently and foolishly spent my money on an xbox 360 ( foolishly considering i have no job and thus no more money.) anywho it seems that i get a free month of xbox live with it. so i guess i have three questions here

1. i'm poor anyone know good cheap games?
2. i could use friends lol anyone wanna help?
3. i forgot my original third question so i'll just ask what else should i do with it before the inevitable bricking occurs?

This should probably go in the games forum (over there ->), pinned at the top of which is the gamertag thread, so post yours up there.

Get street fighter for hours of mindless failure and frustration only to eventually pull off a cool combo and then it all seems worth it.
Halo or Call of Duty 4 for retarded spamming multiplayer.
Madden for sheer fun.
Red Faction Guerilla for blowing stuff up.
Oblivion or Fallout for RPG wonderment

For parties\rhythm gaming grab Guitar Hero: World Tour full band kit(Seeing as you're Australian, WA = Western Australia yeah?) any other extensions of the series that take your fancy.

Do not get Rock Band 1's full band kit, as it's rather terrible quality compared to World Tours. However, in the 360 the instruments are fully cross compatible, so feel free to get Rock Band and use World Tour's stuff.

If you're buying, and you haven't played it yet, and have the do-re-mi for it, Bioshock.
I've had tons of fun with Castle Crashers with my friend.

Always check out the free downloads, I downloaded the free demo of Portal, among others. Free is never the wrong price to try something out.

You could get this on PC as well and having tried both, I would recommend the PC version over the 360 version. In fact, this goes for all Valve products.

that'd be washington. as a general rule, australians (or any non-americans for that matter) usually put in the name of their country, 'cause they don't assume everyone lives in america. ;)
pity, because i have a full GH:WT kit sitting here getting dusty.

Rockband is missing one crucial thing.

However it is still the better game.

Red Octane, IMO, do better peripherals than Harmonix (or whoever makes their instruments) does. Mind you, it's purely personal preference, so bleh. :P

I completely agree that the GH instruments are better, so buy a rockband 2 complete set, and a GH guitar to go with it.

For open world killing and cocking about, saints row 2. For awesome driving games, Burnout Paradise. And halo 3 for disengaging your brain on matchmaking
