Of course, all of this would take place in a framework of cynical detachment.

Did Paul willingly agree to this? Knowing that thousands of people would be looking at his butt?

I was definitely left with my jaw dropped, thinking "whaaaaa?????" But I liked it's complete randomness. Very well acted. I don't know how you guys managed to keep a straight face.

That's a video.

This was alright, I agree that the two halfs could've stood more buildup. Also, James and Jer fitted their parts pretty snugly.

This is probably just subjective to me, but the first few times I saw the title, I thought it said "Buttstallions". And as I read the summary, all I could think of was how they were gonna make gay porn funny. Then I ACTUALLY READ THE TITLE, and I felt stupid. Pretty funny video, though.

That's what I thought it said when I first glanced at it.

Anyway, this was a decent video, but I think it may have been a little too random. I liked the self-awareness it presented and I agree that it seemed very Pythonesque with the end of a segment bleeding into another one.

Both sketches I thought were great, "Buttslaiation" slightly moreso than "Philosophy". The only thing that threw me was the seamless transition between them, which made me think that the news report was going to be about a new spate of silly sketches or somesuch. Then I found it confusing to be about something else.

Maybe had Graham or James said, "Wanna try a different sketch?" before leaving it would have prepared me.

That video was very Monty Python, especially in the transition from Butt-Installation to Philosophers. Great video guys, keep it up.

I think I've read enough 'this is like Monty Python' posts to not ever want to see Monty Python again... ever (also to contradict myself I do agree that it seemed much more 'Mr. Show' inspired personally, but whatever).

Anyway I became a member simply to comment on how awesome this video happens to be. I enjoyed how the Buttstillation part transitioned into the next bit which I though was actually more ridiculous in it's own way than butt construction. I don't know if it was implicitly intentional but the contrast of something that's just simple and ridiculous to something that's ridiculous on a bigger scale made me enjoy the video so much more in retrospect. Also the hidden camera bit was funny (which might have been better if you had cut to a scene of you guys blatantly holding an obvious camera with the words 'Hidden Camera' stenciled on the side, but hey that's my humor).

Anyway nothing but praise and thanks for sharing.

Natasha Stone is a very good reporter because she learned a long time ago to remove her emotions her your story (she fell in love with the subject of a profile she was doing for Action 9 and the relationship turned abusive at the end). Though the last we heard, she was in a happy relationship with a P. Toast.

Lyinginbedmon wrote:Fairly typical discussion between philosopher friend and myself:

"You can't say that X exists just because science says so, it's all perception and perception is what your mind is interpreting as real"
"But we can use other things to determine the existence of something. Magnets can move things, lasers can bounce off of them, mass spectrometers can determine that at the very least SOMETHING exists in a given point of space."
"But what if what you're using to detect it is just your mind rationalising things by giving you what your subconcious expects to find?"

While I question your friend's particular method of posing an epistemic dilemma, I feel I need to defend my colleague. It sounds like you were actively trying to prove that you had knowledge. Why would you assert a major philosophical belief to a student of philosophy and expect anything different?

Obviously it would be rather uncouth of your friend to insist on posing philosophical questions constantly. But if you're engaged in a discussion about knowledge--which is a philosophical discussion--then a philosopher is going to philosophize.

I don't mean to be antagonistic at all. I'm just frustrated by the bias created against my field by misunderstandings and, lets be frank, philosophers who are pricks.

Nah we're cool, she just loves to take the questionable existence and/or accuracy of human perception route as refutation for my scientific arguments because they're the two topics we're best at.

Well I think we must go past the Socratic Ancient to Medieval style process of thought of whether the chair is a chair, because we know it is a chair, we define it by existing in our world by existing because it has a state, although not a higher state because it lacks the capacity to think, as Descartes would speak of. However using what some Pragmatics have taught us, because it serves it's purpose to hold us up in a seated position it therefore must be a chair, and if it fails to meet this standard it is either not a chair, by either being broken where it can no longer hold up weight or is something completely different, or it may fail to fulfill it's purpose of holding one up in the seated position due to lack of butt, which in that case I would recommend a total overhaul with most likely an extension or two, in which....wait...wait I am sorry I cannot do this comment anymore it is getting fair to long and silly, most likely no one will read far enough to get the joke...screw it I'm leaving...

Well it's serious business. People are philosophizing in broad daylight!. Something must be done.
;)
Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad I helped make the video enjoyable for you.

To Feito Com Fruta, the trouble with dating toast of any kind is that after a while the relationship crumbles.

Also, I LOVE your avatar.

I read the title as "Buttstallion" many, many times.

Please, in the name of all that's holy, never make a video called "Buttstallion."

Thank you.

Fixed, but it's okay. Even if you instead went with a French croissant over Pumpernickel, things would have gotten stale after a while. Though you should have known his violent tendancies when you ripped one of his own kind up to feed to ducks, and he was cold, hard, stoic, dry.

Okay I think that covers all the bad toast/bread jokes for now...

As for the avatar, one of my friends had it in a photo album for a Facebook event (to play Quidditch of all things), and seeing as there was an inside joke for us (a rather unfortunate one involving me and homosexual necrophilia with another *nameless* Hufflepuff male), I just had to get it as an avatar. I'm glad you like it though.

That's going to be some serious marks off on the test, Tally. The "Internet Reading" portion accounts for 40% of the grade.
