Jer/Duck NOVEL
So, you probably know about NaNoWriMo, if you don't it's national novel writing month, where you try to write 50k words in .03k days, blah blah blah you prolly know the drill.
So, this will be, like, my FIFTH time trying to do this, but this time, I'm NOT determined to succeed, because that really hasn't seemed to help. This time, I'm only mildly intrigued with the idea of winning, and hoping that that strategy might turn out in my favor.
So, to go along with that, I'm going to have a completely silly premise and idea that I have no real interest in, which will hopefully allow me to have more freedom in rush-plotting.
Anywho, since NaNoWriMo is in November, and DB is at the end of November, I'm currently considering writing a ginormous Jer/Duck slash fiction OPUS.
What I want to know:
Questions/comments?
Good idea, or worst idea?
Is there a way I could somehow use this to raise awareness slash money for DB? This is the biggest question for me now, unless everyone hates the premise. I'm just trying to think of a way I could leverage this into donations. Because I really like the DB Craft-along, but I craft words, not sweaters.
So, yeah. Ideas would be greatly appreciated! Also, during DB, I may be using the chat as more profane version of a random plot generator.

Re: Jer/Duck NOVEL
Sounds like a solid plan to me. A good bonus is that you have plenty of opportunity for flowery over-verbose filler when describing their romantic interludes and forbidden love.

I say go for it. Lady Chatterly's Lover will have nothing on this sordid, racy tale.

Re: Jer/Duck NOVEL
Do it.
Make it as over-the-top as possible, and throw in some cameos.
Also, do your duck research! You don't want to get that wrong, or Jer might be offended.

I know the (a? I don't know if there are multiple winners) girl who won NaNoWriMo last year. I could never do that kind of thing. Good luck.

Wait, so he wouldn't be offended at the premise itself, but would be offended if he fails to do his duck research?
...
You know? I've always wanted to actually finish NaNoWrimo (the farthest I've even gotten was 12,000 words) and believe that I'll probably have a much higher chance of winning if I'm writing something that I can't possibly take seriously.
Therefore, why the fuck not? I'll do a LRRfic opus with you guys. Now all I need is a theme and/or some sort of plot...

The adventures of Paul off-camera. Because seriously, we know nothing about him other than he has a brother who sounds like Kermit, and a couple videos shot in his house.

Maybe everyone who want to try NaNoWriMo this year should pick a LRR slash pairing for their story. I've got mine in mind. xD

Re: Jer/Duck NOVEL
I would, but (no offense to anyone going this route; certainly not the OP) slash-pairing fictional characters is kind of vaguely creepy as it is, but slash-pairing actual people? Yeah...
Also James/Matt is probably already taken you bastards

Are you certain Jer won't mind this? People have been going "OMG! Jer/Ducks!" since Desert Bus 2 & I wouldn't want him to resent the fan "appreciation" like what happened with Matt/Twilight.

Oh good lord no. Do not want! D:
Besides, I doubt you can write 50k words on that... you need something a little deeper. Don't set yourself up to fail!
And if you have trouble pounding the words out, do sprints, or even better, go to a local NaNo meetup. That's how I got mine done last year.

Re: Jer/Duck NOVEL
Well, Jer/Roscoe slash isn't novel material unless you write it like a horrid harlequin romance novel. Then again, I'd read that, just for teh lolz. Here's my tip: don't make it focus so much on the relationship of the two main characters, but on some other bigger problem one or both of them have to deal with.
I'd love to attempt a NaNoWriMo myself, but I'm not that talented nor focused.

Matt/Edward slash fic. Now that's a horrific thought.

Re: Jer/Duck NOVEL
Well, I've got my idea. It contains no slash pairings, but possibly lethal amounts of fanservice, so there you go.
I also already know exactly how it ends. I never know how my stories are going to end before I actually start writing them. This is weird.

Besides, a Matt/Edward slash fic would be Matt holding a wooden stake and going Buffy Summers on a bitch. Then jacking off over the corpse of the asshole.

Well we didn't go into detail about Matt's long, rhythmic strokes over cool, rippling, flesh....
Yeah, I'm going to go and stop myself there.
