Prince of Persia: The sands of Time (movie trailer)
It actually looks a bit promising, but I guess we'll see.

Besides they could always just have a do-over anyways right?
Right now I'm just thinking of this:
In the Theater, during the movie a patron gets up to go to the bathroom. The Movie halts.
Prince: "Do you wish to leave before I finish my story?"
Patron: "I, uh..."

My train of thought is more like a roller coaster that has loop de loops and no safety bars.
I don't know if I'm tall enough to ride.

Sadly, that didn't excite me very much at all.

It looks good enough.
Which means it's gonna suck. I mean the fact that Disney is making it is a sure sign it's gonna suck. Not that I have anything against Disney. But if there is a company that's going to make a video game movie work it's not them.

Haunted Mansion.
Re: Prince of Persia: The sands of Time (movie trailer)
feh, thats my opinion on the movie feh. Looks like a typical Jerry Bruckheimer movie except there's no Johnny Depp to make it awesome. It will be an alright movie that'll piss off fans because they gave the Prince a name, but will be moderate crowd pleaser to everyone else
look a smiley face, it makes you want to smile doesn't it?

If the Prince's name is all that I can find to object to, I'll be happy.
Although if that does happen, it'll be because all of the laws of spacetime, reality and causality have been re-written. In which case, I'll race you to procrastination in my advantageous metaphor of purple reverse meat!
Anyway... it looks like PoP, I'll give it that. Time will tell if I enjoy it or stab Jerry Bruckheimer repeatedly in the face.

I dunno, to me it looks half decent? I did notice a bit of the Dark Prince in there, so it looks like they're stretching this movie across the entire "Sands of Time" mythos...hopefully skipping over the part where the Prince smolders with generic rage and titanium thongs.
I love Godsmack and everything, but that was just redonkulous.

It'll be awful, the trailer was terrible. I mean seriously, why not just turn the first game into a movie, that was a good story. Some tweaking here and there and you have a good one off story that could have a sequel if people really wanted it. Instead we get some idiot writing a script about a series of games they probably know very little about.
I'm over it.

Re: Prince of Persia: The sands of Time (movie trailer)
Um...jordan Mechner (the creator of the original Prince of Persia) wrote the first drafts of the film and has been involved in the process since the beginning.
Plus he has stated that the story of the movie is pulled almost directly from Sands of Time.
so, sorry to burst your bubble there.

Re: Prince of Persia: The sands of Time (movie trailer)
I'm not getting my hopes up for it. Certainly the Prince of Persia series is one of my favorite video game franchises ever, but the movie looks about on par with other video game-inspired movies. But hey, it could be good B-movie material.

This really doesn't look that bad when compared to other game movies. I think it might not suck.
Re: Prince of Persia: The sands of Time (movie trailer)
No, no, this movie is gonna be awesome, you're all wrong and terrorists for thinking otherwise. Also, it comes out just after my birthday, so, that's a good present for me, from Disney.

Here is an HD version I found.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8EA7EbFX4k
So, no Dark Prince (that is just what the rewind looks like), and the signature whip used by the Dark Prince appears to be just a weapon used by assassins.

Re: Prince of Persia: The sands of Time (movie trailer)
I have to say, from when I saw promo shots of Jake Gylenhaal as the Prince, I was impressed. Though I'm still waiting on the Legend of Zelda movie that they made that fake trailer for. Seriously, that was awesome and after Beowulf, Transformers, and this movie, can we PLEASE get someone to make it?

You guys obviously haven't seen Jarhead. Or any of the other films where Mr. Gyllenhall is more ripped than one of Hulk Hogan's t-shirts.

But that is what the Prince from Sands of Time is...a spoiled pretty boy warrior.

Re: Prince of Persia: The sands of Time (movie trailer)
I think he looks alright for the part. Not exactly who I would choose of course, but he doesn't really need to be persian or anything considering how americanized the series is.
