We haven't really published a goal this year.

That said:

if we get $10,000 by the end of the first shift, james will drive the entire first 12 hours himself.

When we break $22,805 I will see new moon once.

When we break $70,423 I will see new moon again.

If we break 100,000 I will see New Moon as many times as it is possible to do so in theatres in a 24 hour period.

The first year their reach goal was $5,000. Last year, the world economy was tanking and they were hoping to make a little more than the first year.

Ultimately, the goal is just to raise as much money as possible, be it $5,000 or $50,000 or $150,000 - it's all going to a great cause.

And no, you haven't been paying attention to the forums if you didn't know the $100,000 "prize" for Matt.

Matt, just so we're clear, since you'll be doing all your New Moon viewings after Desert Bus so you don't miss as much as last year, if we break $100k, the "as many times as it is possible to do so in theatres in a 24 hour period." will include the viewings for breaking the first and second year's total as well, correct?

No, I will see the film during the marathon for the first two milestones, only the 100,000 viewings will be done after. I will however probably go to late shows on account of screaming 12-year-olds during opening week, and wanthing to miss less active parts of the day.

You should go to a theatre you don't particularly like and heckle the movie.

yeah, last year how many times did Matt see twilight?.....like 5 or 6
I'm going to apologize in advance: Matt, I'm terribly sorry for making you watch possibly the worst sequel to the worst movie in the history of human kind, but its for the children and I'm curious to see how many times it takes to make a grown man sob like a baby due to the scrambling of brains.

TBH while it still looks appallinly bad, at least new moon looks like there will be more action and less pregnant pausing.

Ah, but what if some new challenge becomes a fad & no one asks you to see New Moon, will you still go?

Exactly. Bella won't be pregnant til Breaking Dawn. :P

[has a thirteen-year-old daughter, so is contractually obligated to know these things]

I feel for you, Matt. I really do. I'll still be doing my best to make you watch it again, and again, and again.

Has no-one suggested making a writer amoung the crew (Tim, Andy etc.) write some Twilight fanfic?

We can't let Andy write twilight fanfic, because he'd somehow make it awesome, which would make my head explode.

Thats a good idea (and evil). I'll nominate Tally, she has read the books and its a great short story writer. Only question is how much we have to hit to convince her. Please Tally, for the children.

the only problem with that is how is that torture......like we should force someone who refuses to see/read the movies/books do it....so it requires them to actual think about that seed of the devil of a book....

Easy: Tally writes fanfic, Matt proofreads it, and Andy records an audiobook version as a podcast.

If we pay enough.

We have to get Andy to do a dramatic reading of something, his rendition of "Its a Wonderful Life" was riviting. I still maintain Tally is the best author, her whole reason for reading the books if I'm not mistaken was to better rip them apart and harshly critique them. The Matt proofreading and Andy reading would make solid gold.
