I can't help but disagree with you on this...applying arbitrary taboos on certain words for no reason other than some outdated fear of talking about sex is ridiculous. The sooner we get past this kind of thing the better.

I did that a few times (granted, that was because we were dropped off at our babysitters at like 6 in the morning).

But... it doesent compare with getting up at 2 in the morning, shuffling the door to get the lock off (no easy task), sneaking like a church mouse with nine years of stealth training to the living room, and then proceeding to watch, in nothing but your underwear, cartoons (and, in later years, super nintendo). With maybe a bowl of overmilked cereal.

At the age of 7, no less.

My parents would never allow us fruit loops when I was a kid.

I only had them a handful of times when I was at the sitters or my grandparents or by trading on the school yard.

I was never allowed Fruit Loops as a child, except I got one (1) box at my birthday.

This. We only ever got (and still only get) Cheerios and Wheaties, occasionally some Chex, and about once a year we'll get a box of Apple Jacks. Going away to camp meant as many bowls of fruit loops in the morning as I desired, and all of the croutons in the world to snack on, all afternoon.

As someone mentioned before, I really like the sound of a dial-up connection getting started. It's a really comforting and nostalgic thing, the same way I feel about smooth jazz in the evenings. I miss that.

Also I wanted to note that this is the first thread in recent memory - outside of debate/argument threads - that really made me stop and think for awhile. Kudos. I am appoint.

I miss when you spent every moment of recess making a snowball bigger than you and then spent after school cementing it in place with spray-bottles so that the stupid younger kids didn't steal the hallmark of your snowfort.
