X-Mas Shopping

Postby Niko88 » 12 Dec 2009, 23:53

I just got about 90% of my christmas shopping done! I can say what I got on here as none of them are on the forum. Aaron Rodgers Jersey for my dad, Muk Lucks and Pulp Fiction for my sister, Candles and Leatherheads for my mother, and, this is my favorite, a lunch box with GIR on it for my girlfriend with a Max Plushy, the howls moving castle novel and the sound track for Nick and Noras.

Anyone else battle through their christmas shopping? I have just a few more things to get and then I am done done done.
Why do I love the blinking street lights so much?

I just finished last night. My sister's birthday is right after Christmas so I am not settled on what I am giving her for what but I bought her the Sookie Stackhouse book series and a combo gift with my Mom, a pair of Shure SE115 sound isolating headphones with the iphone adapter. I bought my Mom a soapstone incense burner and a box of incense. I still have a couple gifts to make. But chainmaille jewelery is not difficult to make. Just have to figure out how to mount the polished malachite pieces I bought.

I got all my Christmas shopping done in one trip. Mom is getting the fourth season of Reba and a nice scarf. Dad is getting new snow boots and the Susan Boyle CD. Bro is getting the Narnia boxed set. Grandma is getting a pair of earrings and the Price is Right PC game. My two youngest cousins are getting shirts from Justice for her and a Phillies scarf for him.

i have gifts for everyone but my brother and girlfriend. My brother is easy because as a uni student, he would probably be content with money to pay off his debt :P. Girlfriend his harder. thing is that i want to get a really awesome gift, but dont really know what she wants. We're going into town later this week so i will probably get something for her then, i just have no idea what. I want to make it really personal and sweet, but I'm not entirely sure how. Ah well, i'm sure i'll think of something.

One brother's getting Mass Effect, a toque, and a shirt (which won't arrive until after Christmas). The other's getting an ice axe, because he's getting into mountaineering. My sister... no idea. Mom and dad, gift certificate to a nice restaurant and a VERY nice bottle of wine. Fiance and I are just doing stockings, so she gets a chocolate orange, lifesavers story book, gloves, Nerf gun, and a Santa hat.

I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO BEFORE THE 18TH!!!!!
I'm having my Christmas party with my friends at my house at that point. Way more worried about finding the right gifts for them.

But oh! I found the perfect gift for my friend Rick, who's a musician. I'm going to buy him a violin with the help of my other friend and his girlfriend. (He's wanted one for AGES, but is always broke 'cause he basically busks for a living.)

So excited to give my friends really great gifts! =D

On the subject of Lovecraftian gifts, I recently discovered Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs, which do these really geeky/arty/awesome perfumes, including a line inspired by good old H.P.
I think some of them'd make great Christmas presents, although I'm not sure my girlfriend would appreciate the Cthulhu one, described as "A creeping, wet, slithering scent, dripping with seaweed, oceanic plants and dark, unfathomable waters." Maybe I'll go with the "amorphous, radiant, incandescent scent." of the Shoggoth instead...

Got my brother the new trans-siberian orchestra CD. Got my paternal grandpa a $25 poker chip to a local casino he likes to play at, got my grandma a floral display. Maternal grandparents my moms taking care of so i just chipped in 50 bucks. Parents are getting a copy of Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box since they both enjoyed doing the first game together, I figured they'd enjoy the second.

left 4 dead 2 first of all because i loved the first one and i was gonna get the Nerf N-strike Longshot Cs-6 that one of the LRR crew has but its not avalible in my country i think, so i have to settle for the Recon instead lol. the only reason for getting one is just to annoy people and everyone who knows about it keep telling my im too old for it, i dont care to be honest lol. some other bits and pieces and clothes probably

AND season 4 of LRR, nearly missed that out :/
