Re: In Engl... wait Canada?
On the topic of Canadian laws that are for some reason still around, apparently the Canadian Riot Act (which has only been used in history about twice) has been untouched for ages. It reads:
"Her Majesty the Queen charges and commands all persons being assembled immediately to disperse and peaceably to depart to their habitations or their lawful business, on pain of being guilty of an offence for which, on conviction, they may be sentenced to an imprisonment for life. God Save the Queen!"
Yes, this law is so old that it still states God Save the Queen, much like we are still a british colony.

She's still the Queen of Canada. I still have to swear allegiance to her to work for the government.

There should be a clause in the law that states that if you're that stupid, it's your own problem.
And maybe forced sterilization.

How'd I know that was going to happen when I clicked that. Haha.
Instead of giving the woman a proper trial the law also states that she will be found guilty if she weighs the same as a duck.
But shouldn't all palm reading parlors get shut down under that law? Or is there a distinction between psychic and witch?

And where does that leave the Wiccans? WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE WICCANS?!

Seriously... that guy was a lawyer... and fell for the "I am your long dead sister come back from the grave" trick?
I pitty the person facing murder charges who picks that guy as his defense attorney.

As a pagan, I am tempted to sue for besmirching of my religious beliefs. Not sure who i'd sue, but everyone seems to be doing it right about now.
Seriously, i'm actually quite offended by this. Couldn't tell you why, but I am.

Some woman claims to be a witch, and uses that claim to extort a mourning man out of his life savings.
Besmirching. Just like those stupid on-stage mediums and con-men who feed on the emotionally troubled.
