Actually, we don't eat ham at Christmas at all. I don't think anyone does here in Denmark(well, some might, but ham is not a danish christmans tradition).

So it's probably nothing to do with christianity, as much as a "local" tradition, that has become associated with christianity.

Korri - that's a German tradition that goes well beyond Penn State. Pork, saurkraut, new potatoes, and peas I think...

EDIT: Dad corrected me, it's not regular green peas, its black-eyed peas.

I hate pork and pork-related products... so I have no clue why people ever eat ham, including on the holidays. However turkey is delicious!

Basicly everyone gets a fryingpan and you put something in the pan or on the plate itself.
From small hamburgers to pancakes etc etc. anything basicly.

The best use for those is the one intended and pictured, for raclette is great cheese and very tasty on bread or potatoes or other things you put on the top part of the grill.

i'd eat me some ham twice a week if i could. Traditionally my family does turkey on xmas day (my brother won't eat ham) and I come back to my moms house on new years day for ham dinner...
