... And Tim keeps up his fine tradition of not wearing pants.
Y'know, I'd say this was Toilet Humour 2, to a certain extent.

Re: Paper Boy
Gotta say, I love slidey and then risey Graham.
Reminds me of something, I'm not sure what. I don't wanna say Monty Python cause I'm sure you guys have heard that enough times now.
I liked the video, very quirky, but not one of your best punch-lines. Don't get me wrong, well delivered and reacted to and everything, it was just too obvious and you could see it coming from a mile away. I actually expected you to hang a lampshade (to use the tv tropes parlance) on such an ending in some way (kinda like you did with Wakey Wakey) but it didn't end up happening.
I enjoyed everything else about the vid, the banter between Graham and Tim, the little jokes and James's sting were great. It was just kind of a textbook obvious punchline to me.
Maybe I'm wrong though. I'm interested in seeing what everyone else thinks.

Re: Paper Boy
Agreed about the punchline, it was obvious. But totally saved by the delivery, especially Tim's reaction.
Also, the stinger was FANTASTIC.
Other highlights include Graham's face after being asked for this year's blend, and Tim being unsure what to do with the 'sample' paper.

Really? I'd say completely. They might have not titled it as such just to keep the Escapees from feeling left out.metcarfre wrote:Y'know, I'd say this was Toilet Humour 2, to a certain extent.
Speaking of which, yes it was a good video and all, but more notable is that there doesn't seem to be a mixed reaction at all over there; everyone who's commented so far has really loved it. So, well done with showing them what you're made of, and bringing in moar fans.
EDIT: Kathleen and Tim should have a reaction face face-off!

Re: Paper Boy
I really, really enjoyed this video. You created a creepily believable world in that toilet cubicle, and all the details about different types and vintages of toilet paper had me laughing all over the place.
As to the punchline being obvious, well, I guess so, but a sketch isn't all about the punchline. Some of my favourite sketches have relatively poor punchlines, but the rest of the sketch is what makes them memorable and awesome.
In this instance, I thought the punchline was good, but I will watch it again for all the funny that leads up to it.
Also, judging from comments on The Escapist, you've created brand new insecurities about wiping habits. Bravo!

Re: Paper Boy
Just to re-iterate I wasn't saying it was a bad video and I agree that the sketch isn't all about the punchline, I just thought that this paticular video had a bit of an obvious one. It's just a bit of a minor criticism.
Nothing to see here.

Re: Paper Boy
Of course, sorry if I got a bit overzealous there, I just thought the set-up was clever enough to carry the punchline, essentially

Bah for some reason the Escapist refuses to load for me.
~I'm probably not serious~
Oh and you can just call me Dave.
No need for the whole screen name.

How much fun did you guys have coming up with all of the silly names for the different types of paper?

This video has an excellent vintage. Tim and the sample paper made me crack up like none other.

Re: Paper Boy
Is having a little bit after the credits a thing that you've started doing for the Escapist? Because I don't really remember them being that many in other videos previous to 'The job' and 'Paper boy'.

Re: Paper Boy
Not as good as last week, but still pretty good. This was clearly Toilet Humour 2; Tim had big boots to fill, but he stood up to Andy. The punchline was a bit weak, I guess.
Question, did last week mark season 8, is season 7 going to be extra long or will season 7 end in October as normal? Will there even be seasons any more?

Re: Paper Boy
Ah toilet humour. I do love LRRs take on traditional toilet humour and this is a sequel in spirit if not in name to the one with Andy. Brilliant, it will be interesting to see the full escapist reaction to this.
I also found this especially funny because I saw this episode of QI just the other night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rertpJPid1k

Re: Paper Boy
Don't take this as set in stone, but I think the way we're looking at it is that Season 7 started last week with "The Job" and will go until the last week of December, and Season 8 will start in January 2011. So Season 6 included all the way up until "Wakey Wakey".
Or something.

Re: Paper Boy
Well how could they pass it up? "Bathroom Attendant" just screams out with so many comedic possibilities, yet is painfully under-utilized.

James was my favorite, followed closely by slidy Graham. Overall, not my favorite video, but still entertaining and well done.

Yes. Yes you are.
Re: Paper Boy
I love you guys so much right now. That was amazing!
Also, things that I noticed:
1) There is still plenty of toilet paper visible in the dispenser
2) Either Tim went commando for that or he kept his undies on and well hidden (probably the latter, which would appear to suggest briefs rather than boxers. You're welcome internet, and I'm so so sorry for pointing that out, Tim)
3) The escapist intro is in some kind of weird super stereo for me
edit:
... and you're also european. Way to play into stereotypes!
