Your Great Expectations 2010
This is a thread for talking or even just listing things you're looking forward or anxious about to this year, and where we can join in, build up, or pre-crush those dreams. I think it'll be fun. Here are mine:
•Starting my webseries
-Completing my first graphic novel
-Seeing a fictional world I've created actually start to form for others through the miracle of self publishing
•Graduating
•Grad School
•The movie "Inception" (first one I'm looking forward to this year, looks epic)
•Moving back to LA.
•Visiting Western Canada for the first time
•Visiting Italy for the first time
•Getting my EU passport
•First big scale professional concert video job.
Some of these things should happen if I succeed, others are just chances I've got going, and one or two I'm just waiting for. I'm gonna miss new york so much.

Re: Your Great Expectations 2010
A-levels - i need 3 As... eep
sorting out my GAP year - with any luck i will be jetting of downunder in July. obviously this is pretty big step in my life, moving out of school and living on my own in a different country for the first time. I haven't even got the placement yet so if i don't I'll have to work out something else out, which will be a hassle.
anything else really pales in comparison to that, but i guess i might as well throw in my first serious relationship continuing to go well.
it's gonna be an interesting year, i wonder if it'll top 2009 or not. time will tell

Re: Your Great Expectations 2010
Graduating high school a semester early. It'll involve doubling up on English and Social Studies classes so that I can get the full year in, but it's worth it to have the extra semester off. Then I'll be able to work full-time (assuming I can find a job), and GTFO, bitches!

Get stuff done, do well, and flex my creative muscle more.
Re: Your Great Expectations 2010
Right now the only 'event' I'm looking forward to is going to see EvelynEvelyn in concert and the associated London trip that goes with that. Other than that I'm looking forward to an actually good semester where I'm not quite so depressive about things. And staying in Bath over summer, I hope I can manage that.

Re: Your Great Expectations 2010
- Start my webseries (I got my last two paychecks, so I can get a camera and start filming, since scripting is going really well)
- Stop procrastinating (may hold off on this one... I can start tomorrow afterall)
- Reget my passport, since I lost it and it got stolen. It's going to be a PITA though since I have no way to prove I was even born.
- Finish a novel and get it published (if Twilight can get published, hypothetically I should be able to wipe my ass on a piece of paper and publish it)
- Get out of student loan default and go back to school to get my degree
- Travel. I don't know how or where, but I do want to travel and am going to find a way to do it, or else I'll go insane.

Re: Your Great Expectations 2010
This year, I've already scheduled three times as many excursions as I used to be able to take. Some pretty far flung one's too.
Additionally, I'm slated to meet with the Blue Timbers (not sure how else to translate that) to discuss matters of enhanced and higher proximity observation of the region encompassing Solcentaba. I'm against it, but we'll see how much they value my opinions and influences.
Also, I'm planning to expand my bonus room. Found some fabulous suppliers of adaptable furnishings. The things they can do with alloys these days.

I also wouldn't mind losing some weight, though I think pretty much everyone would like to lose some weight.

Re: Your Great Expectations 2010
Well, I'm getting married (I hope THAT turns out OK). This winter I really want to use my backcountry skis, if global warming would just chill out (ha!) for a bit.
Fingers crossed, I may have a grad student position when I move to the mainland in May, which would be awesome. Otherwise a decent job in my actual field would be great. June I'm hoping to climb Baker again, and my folks are giving me money for getting my degree which I hope to spend on an Intermediate Mountaineering course, plus maybe some proper mountain boots and crampons. So... more time in the mountains would be good.
