Found a cool web comic? Share here!

Postby Niko88 » 24 Jan 2010, 21:09

This is one of my favorites recently: http://www.multiplexcomic.com

Don't really know how popular it is around the interwebs but I read it religiously.

Also this is a good place to talk about those all ready popular web comics (Girls with Slingshots, Least I could Do, Questionable Content, VG Cats, and there was another one... Can't think of it. Something about Pennys?)
Why do I love the blinking street lights so much?

http://rockpapercynic.com

I advertise this guy a lot... He does two comics, Rock, Paper, Cynic on MWF, and Little Worlds on TuTh.

Originally, all of the comics were hand drawn, but he switched to stylized photographs. He still draws some, though.

He also does music.

I have it bookmarked, but I've yet to get around to it.

Questionable content, obviously.

Gunnerkrigg court, one of the few web comics to actually keep a buffer (30 strips in advance). Great art and stories, and counts Neil Gaiman amoung it's readership.

Penny and Aggie, a sort of betty and veronica dramedy on crack. The complexities of geo-politics are nothing compared to these girls lives.

Yu+Me. Come for the lesbians, stay for the great story and art.

Errant story: The art is mediocore, but its one of the few fantasy web comics out there worth reading.

I kind of stopped reading Yu+me after they went into the second part (no spoilers). It just kind of lost me.

I've been reading Multiplex for a while, and I enjoy the story and characters.

I would recommend checking out ErfWorld (the link takes you to the first comic)
It is a good story and funny setting (especially for anyone who has played a turn-based game) that makes many many wordplay jokes.

Nedroid is great, I was going to post that but ya beat me to it Nevrmore. A comic I really like is Scott Meets Family Circus, but the guy doesn't update too frequently and there aren't that many of them.

It's a shame no one has posted this one yet:

http://www.boltcity.com/copper/

It's rarely updated but the art is fantastic and it really gives off that Calvin and Hobbes feel, it's hard to tell whether this world the artist made is a version seen through the eyes of a child or if it really is that awesome.

I don't even remember how I found it though.

e: SMBC is also fantastic:

My favorite one lately is Brawl in the Family (http://www.brawlinthefamily.com). It started as one guy's random doodling on the GameFAQs SSBB board prior to the game's release, but he made it into a full-fledged webcomic that still updates regularly. Basically, it's all about the cast of Brawl and curious observations/"what if" scenarios. And it's hilarious.
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.
