The Akinator

Postby GioSpy » 27 Jan 2010, 22:50

This is an online program where you think of any character, real or fictional, and it will ask you a series of questions about that character until it finally guesses it. Have fun.

BTW, Graham Stark is on the site :P I'm going to try other LRR crew.

I tricked it on my first go. I philosophically consider fictional characters to be real (to a point) and to exist (period, as anything conceivable exists), just fictional; so it was kind of unfair, not that it didn't guess fictional characters even though I insisted that it was real. My character? Radical Edward from Cowboy Bebop.

also, got graham! woo!

tried for kathleen, but kept getting porn actresses... sorry.

honestly, this thing is not impressing me. Though it nailed billie piper.

however, the test fails hardcore for trying to bound all 11 doctor incarnations as a single character, and I call shenanigans on that.

My character was Andy. His first guess was Graham, then someone else, then he admitted defeat. Now he says to come back later when he wakes up :-/

Matt is on it, but he doesnt have a photograph associated with him, merely his name. It guessed Graham first though.

I got Yahtzee when I was trying for Paul, and it gave his full name. Sucks for Yahtzee.

It might start guessing Paul now though. He was on the list at the end.

I've beaten it a couple times, but it's running around 90-95% so far.

So far it's gotten:

Graham
Matt
Mario
Luigi
Ness
Jack from Madworld
King Uriel Septim VII
Turok
Andrew Ryan
Mordecai from Borderlands
Cleopatra
Faith from Mirror's Edge
Alma from FEAR
Sam Fisher
Gordon Freeman
Johnny Gat
Spiderman
Morrigan from Dragon Age
Issac's Wife from Dead Space
Agent from Crackdown
Sean from the Saboteur
Alex from Prototype
Master Chief
Yuri from Tales of Vesperia
Jack from Harvest Moon
The Godfather from The Godfather
Chrono
Soap from CoD:MW
Steven Seagal

And a pile of other people. The funny part is you can tell when it zeros in on your choice.

First time I beat it with Jaina Solo. Second time I thought of Paul and it gave me Graham.

I now have introduced him to Andy Cownden. So far It's about 50 50 with me on characters.

It failed to get Tommy Tallarico, Becky Young, a Space Invader, Bernard Black and a few others that I tried...

It impressed me when it managed to get both Rabbids and Allied Mastercomputer (from I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream book and video game), although with the various other ones that I attempted!

Edit - Oh, and it also didn't get Ged/Sparrowhawk from the Tales of Earthsea novels...

I've managed to beat this game a few times, but in general it's pretty good, as long as you can provide accurate information.

If we all keep trying to get LRR crew/characters, eventually it will guess them more often.
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.

Did you not get a "Is your character female?" question? Surely that would rule out the possibility of Paul? Or am I missing a deep dark LRRniverse secret here?

Also, when trying to get it to recognise Kathleen, what would you answer with regards to "Is your character known for her breasts?"

Edit - I FINALLY GOT KATHLEEN!!!! WOOOO!!

I got TWO questions asking about the gender. So with that in mind, I think there's something the crew isn't telling us.
