That is an awesome new place...is it like a whole house or something or is it an actual office building?

Also very noticeable lower quality of video...just want to check was that just me or is it like that?

That function generator actually looks like you've called it.
Looks like one dial controls frequency and the other controls amplitude.
Outputs on the bottom are for sending it to an oscilloscope.

Otherweise, who knows what it could be without having to take that thing apart.
New office looks sweet, congrats on the move

New base is awesome!

Which room is most likely going to be used for desertbus?

Studio space looks a little crowded, but it just be the angle of the shot.

also, im am keenly awaiting the "Cardboard-man, air-hump GIF"

I saw toast in the credits and was like WOOHOO! then I saw toast in the video, and was sad.

It's half of a house, shared with the business that owns the building.

Also very noticeable lower quality of video...just want to check was that just me or is it like that?

It's not just you. I posted the video before YouTube was done converting the higher quality versions of the video. It should be in HD within a few hours.

Hurrah! Will we be getting additional pictures of the new Moonbase for the blog? For some reason I have a hard time putting together a floorplan from video (had the same problem with the old new Moonbase), and I need to know these things!

Also, how long until someone locates the new place on Google Maps?

Damn, I was going to say what a function generator was but someone beat me to it.
Ya, it basically makes waves on the screen of an oscilloscope, it was in one of our physics labs.
What the actual use of such a thing is other than pointless, boring labs, god only knows.
Take it apart, or even better MICROWAVE IT :O

I could guess what it was by the name and the look of it, nice to have some confirmation though.

Xix you beat me to it! so ya... if that do not cover what that is and what it dose for u... quick break down:

a function generator produces a variable electric output, mostly a sin wave, but can be a triangle or square. but the one u got there looks basic and is probably only a sin wave. using the dials u control the amplitude and period of the wave. the amplitude is the voltage, so for example 2 would be +2 volts @ sine 90 and -2 @ sin 270, using a sin wave. the period controls the length of the wave, ie how long it takes for a full wave to take place (360 deg). u also have an offset so you can shift the function up or down in voltages or start at a cretin degree. that's what you have there... if like Xix said if it is labeled correctly.

so other than that, the new base looks cool. but i gets a lot of light for being underground.

The new base looks nice and I hope to see more of it. Paul's sickly voice made me giggle like Tim had.

Probably something similar to the show Wife Swap and Paul's voice was swapped with someone with a shriveled and charred voice box.

Imagine what that guys day with Paul's voice was like. He must've never stopped talking.
What are you looking at.

Graham said in the video everyone was getting over a cold... so if it looks like a cold, smells like a cold, and talks like a cold it's obviously a voice swap. ;)
all kidding aside I'm super excited for you guys. I really like the moonbase MkIII and I hope many great and funny videos will be produced from this new location. I agree with the Master Gunner though more picts are required.

I thought Paul sounded normal for the most part, but when I heard him say "Hi Paul" I was all "lolwut?"

New place looks awesome. Hopefully you can spend at least a year at this one.
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.

Physics is like sex: sure, it may give some practical results, but that's not why we do it.
~Richard Feynman.

Function generators are basically used for science experiments and nothing much else. Using it as a source of practical current is like using a Swiss Army knife exclusively as a corkscrew. By the by, if you know anyone who does that, I want to party with them! Who's got me up high?
As previously stated, they generate a variable output, which can have all sorts of uses. For one, a sine wave acts like an A/C current if you need one.
Also, plug that into a speaker and you get a noise (hopefully one in the human audio range...or not, for added canine fun!). Plug in some resistors or opamps or whatever and you can alter the sound at will. Science!

Sounds like they ran it through the function generator :)

I figured I should register to say this.

I paraphrase, but I am reminded of an episode of Penny Arcade TV where Tycho (I think) states that you know an organisation has reached a sufficient level when they have space sufficient for a ping pong table.

Congratulations on reaching that level.

I can only assume this means you will be the next company to challenge PA to a ping pong duel. Tournaments are best of seven players, and you have seven people (and more spare). The only question remains, would you go to Penny Arcade, or would they come to you?

I was friends with you in elementary school Graham. Remember trading Star Wars and Star Trek cards?

Now to watch the video in HD frame by frame to figure out where the Moonbase Mk III is.

"And then we bought the entire goddamn store!"

Don't we all love IKEA..

Awesome new place.

Funny thing about IKEA furniture is that I always have the urge to say "hey, I have that table/shelf/etc too", which is kinda.. dumb..

The function generator is clearly incredibly happy to become a potential prop. Just look at it. Also, my money's on the x-rays being from an animal, probably a dog.

No-one watch this in HD before I've gotten at least 3 viewings meself, I am stalking the hell out of this place!
