Alright, today it seems like my mom's computer has a virus attack... so I just try to find a way to fix it, but i can't, why? BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM IS INFECTED. I found it hard to believe that everything could be infected and thought it was just an antivirus plot for us to buy something. We don't have really have an antivirus (Just the standard free scan only that come installed every computer) but a thing that keeps popping up is antivirus live or something along the lines of that. Also, the webpage porno.com or .org or something like keeps popping up. I ran it in safe mode but guess what? It isn't safe, we tried installing an antivirus but after it installed, we couldn't use it, it had been affected as well. Before we ran a sweep with spy sweeper and only cookies showed up. Malware bytes antimalware couldn't find anything either? Another thing to note, you know that one spyware/malware that tries to perform a fake virus scan in your web browser and tries to get you to buy it? That's been popping up too.

Did you run Malwar bytes in safe mode? If not, try that. Also, AVG.

Re: How do you uninstall frostwire?
AVG is crap. Use SUPERantispyware. Not only does it work, but it gives you the option to create a uniquely named executable file so that the virus can't dodge it.

Re: How do you uninstall frostwire?
Delete C:\WINDOWS
That should do it. I also hear it makes your computer run faster.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT MAY HAPPEN TO YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU ARE SILLY ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY DO THIS

Re: How do you uninstall frostwire?
I don't have the time to go dig up links on how to do this, but I'd suggest:
1)Make a linux boot disc on a thumb drive (I'd suggest using a drive you don't have anything important on and using another computer to make the drive)
2) Boot in linux, grab whatever files you want to save (ie video game save files, important documents, photos, music etc)
3) Reformat
4) Reinstall windows
5) The FIRST thing you do when you hook it back up to the internet is get a free firewall and antivirus. I'd recommend Comodo firewall and Avast antivirus

Re: How do you uninstall frostwire?
It seems you may have contracted a bogus anti-virus virus. (Its a virus pretending to be a virusscanner claiming everything on your computer is infected. Often with the message you can only delete the files when you buy the "full" version of the program. Which ofcourse does jack shit)
I suggest going to a forum where people know their malware, and run Hijack This! to create a log. (Don't delete anything yet, just make the log) and post that with your post.
Have you tried Kaspersky Online? It'll take a while to run, but it's one of the better online scanners.

If it is one of those pretend virus programs they can be pretty difficult to remove, they hide a downloader and then when removed re-download themselves. Dutch Guy's advice is the best. Hijack This! is an excellent tool.

Just be careful with HijackThis! It can break your windows beyond repair.

No it can't. It's possible to fix it even if you erase everything it gives you the option to. I just wouldn't reccomend it for the time it would take to undo the damage you did to yourself.

Re: How do you uninstall frostwire?
I agree with the "reinstall" idea. Be careful what you install on the new install of windows, and run AVG or something similar from the start.
