LrrMobile Mk. II

Postby Matt » 18 May 2010, 21:01

As anyone following my twitter is probably aware, I just bought a new car tonight.

I take possession on Thursday, but this is she, sitting on the lot, awaiting a detail job, and installation of an 8"sub.

Image

Here's what it actually looks like:

That's a 2 door coupe with 140 hp, 5-speed manual trans, power windows/locks, keyless entry, power moonroof, leather interior, Microsoft Sync voice-activated media computer, in dash USB, cupholders, A/C, the whole shebang.

I am very excited.

I saw a blue Saturn S series (I think) in a mall parking lot today. It was LRR blue. The guy wanted 7000 for it. Good looking car with leather interior, and what seemed like some high dollar rims. I thought "why sell that?"
I like that car Matt. it is pretty nice, Although what happened to that red convertible?

I traded it in for the car above, which is 20 years newer and 100x nicer.

... we own that bus. complete with the logo.

It should also be noted that I'm planning on putting a small Vinyl LRR logo on the trunk panel of my new car :D

It's blue. Good man. ;)

I'm unfamiliar with the car but it looks kinda small. Will this be used to haul LRR equipment & staff or is it a Matt-only deal? Either way I'm happy for you. I know you've been wanting to upgrade from the other for quite some time. May the miles treat you both well.

P.S. Any thoughts on a custom license plate?

It's about the same size as kathleen's car, and the trunk is cavernous, so people and equipment will fit. And I have considered a vanity plate, but I'd want "AFK" and guaranteed it's taken already.

I guess "LRR" or whathaveyou would work as a second choice.

I read 'cavernous' as 'carnivorous'

I assume the detailing job won't include a LRR logo on the side of the car eh? :P

Always remember to bring the spare. Tire that is, (also a towel comes in handy.)
You guys own a bus?! neat. I seriously thought the logo was photoshopped as well.

Yeah. Towel and a blanket. You just never know...

Dubious_wolf, the guys got together and bought the bus for a road trip to San Diego for the ComicCon a few years back. The shotgun energy drink vid was a result of that.

Most of the early Road Trip videos around that time were a result of that.

As far as custom detailing goes, you can do that on the cheap with cling vinyl. Observe:

More so than ever we are in a really good place when it comes to Vehicle's.

4 or the core 7 not only drive but all own cars.

Now if the other 3 would get there asses in gear and at the very least learn to drive we would be set :P

Ha! Good luck!

Oh and because it needs to be said:
If you are moving to BC, get your license in whatever state/province/country you are currently living in FIRST before you move to BC. Lots of headaches saved....

depends where you're moving from. Most of the provinces of canada have similar graduated licensing laws now.

Also, our licensing regulations have drastically reduced the number of fatal crashes among new drivers in BC.

Just, y'know, for the record.

Edit: that is to say, the headaches are there to keep you from killing yourself. :3

I am of the opinion that it is way too easy to get your license in the US... If we had even slightly more regulation it could reduce the number of teens killed in car wrecks.

I've only heard that U.S drivers are better than Canadian ones, I'm too lazy to try to back it up though so just assume it's true
