This is the first I've heard/seen of this, and I have to agree with you. Looks pretty stupid.

i hadn't heard of the source material until i saw the first trailer, once i saw Edgar Wright was in charge of it, i got immediately excited.

it looks soooo awesome, and i am desperately trying to track down the source material, which is proving difficult in my area. i'm sure it'll be released as a giant compilation once the 6th drops and the movie is out.

that all said, i think i've watched the new trailer more then a dozen times.

If you are entirely desperate... you could... say... *cough* torrent it, in the mean time that is, until you can buy up the collection and support the artist *thumbs up*

Honestly I don't really care about the movie but I started reading the comic and HOLY SHIT AWESOME. I got half way through the first issue before I had to leave Barnes and Nobles! CRAP! I'd buy it, but it's pretty expensive, and I don't really like buying stuff until I know I really like it... need to see if I can request a copy through the library system.

Shit shit shit! I want to read them before the movie comes out and the movie trailers give away all the good bits!

OK so the trailer looks pretty sweet. Also Anamanaguchi is doing the title theme, and I LOVE Anamanaguchi. So maybe I will end up seeing this. It looks pretty ridiculous, but maybe in a good way!

But only AFTER I finish the comic.

I had no clue what this was about. Can't say I was interested...

And then I saw the new trailer this morning and my jaw dropped.

Shit's gonna be OFF THE CHAIN MAN.

That trailer has now merited me wanting to check out the source material... I just hope some booth at Otakon will be selling the books, otherwise I'm screwed... I'm hoping I'll luck out though.

I hadn't heard of this before the first trailer, but I am intrigued. It appeals to a certain side of me. I may pick up the books at some point, probably not until the fall though, and that depends on whether or not I have enough money saved up for Desert Bus.

My local Comic book retailers doesn't stock Scott Pilgrim so I'm gonna have to go hunt them before the film comes out.

I didn't have much interest before I saw the trailer at Kick Ass, now I think it's the film I'm most looking forward to (Other than Inception)

Anamanaguchi are actually doing the score for the video game, not the movie. The game also sounds like it's going to be totally rad:
A video game based on the series was announced during San Diego Comic Con 2009 and will be developed by Ubisoft Montreal to be released alongside the film. The game will be side-scroller influenced by 8-bit and 16-bit video games. On March 26, 2010 at PAX East in Boston, the chiptune punk band Anamanaguchi announced they would be performing the music in the Ubisoft video game adaptation. No details concerning platforms the game will be released on have been announced yet.

I've never actually heard of this, but saw the trailer a while back in theatres. It looks right up my alley, even though I really don't know much about what it's about.

You won't, Matt, a lot of the music is going to be original.

The Jester wrote:It's not the suspension of disbelief I have difficulty with, and actually the multidimensional delivery girl idea sounds pretty good, but it's my willingness to root for, support, and will to succeed a relationship where one of the participents is apparently just really bad at picking them that I have trouble with. I just really don't like poor matchups, even in real life. Especially in real life.

So it is your suspension of disbelief? Actually, It's important to note that not every ex started out evil. Some only became evil later. Also, one of Ramona's exes in the book (I think his name is Doug) is explicitly noted as being not evil, but he was, apparently, a bit of a dick. You're not giving it enough credit.
