Cucumber, onion, potato, carrot, green pepper, tomato stir fried in olive oil. Along with some tofu fried in soya sauce.

Parsley and thyme lightly sprinkled over it.

Also, homemade sweet potato fries.

Eggplant Parmesan with my sister. Next we're going to try putting eggplant on pizza. I'm actually rather excited for it.

Yesterday I cooked some spicy Mexican Rice for a barbecue. It was pretty well received, and I was pleased with it.

I have been volunteered to be the cook at another barbecue, next week. We'll see how that goes. The last one I did (not yesterday, but a previous one where I did the grilling) went fantastically well. People professed a strong desire to make sweet, sweet man love to me after they partook of my burgers.

Tonight: ground pork tacos. It was supposed to be regular tacos, but I was very tired last night and grabbed what I thought was a packet of pork and a packet of beef to grind. Turns out BOTH were pork, and I didn't notice my mistake until just before I went to grind and cook it. Much too late to thaw beef.

Turned out very well, however, and the tacos were delicious.

Tomorrow: potato soup. It's supposed to be cooler, and dagnabit, I want some potato soup.

Also, sliced french bread (no garlic or butter) toasted with an egg patty, two slices of roast beef and ketchup. All for a good breakfast

I heated up canned Wolf brand chili, chopped up about five "jumbo franks" and then added garlic pepper and salt, and four bread slices into a pot. It was basically a bunch of chili dogs with all the messy parts cut out.

Yesterday I used my new favorite spices on some chicken breasts, then put them on the barbecue. I also roasted some peppers on that, I think I'll do that in the oven next time, they didn't turn out quite like I wanted. I served them with rice.

TomBrend, what are your new favorite spices?

Mister Fiend, that sounds really good, and I take it they were fried or baked chops.

Made carrot soup today. Still haven't been able to figure out a good recipe. Today's had ginger and lemon zest, and I left the ginger and lemon in when I blended it... that was a mistake. Turned out kind of bitter, not very good at all.

Oh well. Have to try again. For now, I have about two quarts of bitter carrot soup. :(

When you say, "left the ginger and lemon in"... what do you mean? Did you put a whole lemon rind and bulb of ginger in? Generally, I myself peel my ginger and use my zester to grate it into things. Similarly the best way to get flavour out of a lemon is to wash it and zest it, followed by the juice.

I had my mum's cheesy pasta. Nobody in the WORLD makes it as good as she does. That actually made my girlfriend feel stressed out because she said "Well, how am I supposed to cook you a nice meal then?" Maybe her ways can be passed on...

Or maybe it's the cheese itself.
