My forum personality? Well, I do self-aggrandize a tad.
Really, I'm your average bloke. I just like to tell about ordinary things in a way that makes them feel a bit more extraordinary. Everything I share is reality, each event and the descriptions I give are all perfectly factual. Yet I do often wax poetic here or there, or perhaps I evoke unusual mental images or describe things in odd or showy ways. What can I say? I have my own styles of writing, and when here I enjoy making use of my more playful ones.
Really, the ultimate difference between the mundane and the incredible is in how you describe it. Take for example, a humble lightbulb. I just turned one on a moment ago. Nothing spectacular in that, at least ordinarily. But if I tell about it properly, it suddenly becomes interesting. If I lead your perspective away from the plain and dull, and instead draw one's attention to the miraculous nature of something we take for granted, it suddenly becomes much more powerful.
So imagine, if you will, a simple flick of one's fingers and a resultant flame shooting into life. Imagine a vast reserve of latent energy held in check, suddenly slipping, instantaneously arcing along a coil through a chamber of exotic gases. The coil floods the chamber with white-hot light, the gases swirl and tumble in a chaotic, convective dance. Blown glass walls shimmer and hum, and the entire orb sweeps luminance about itself in a blinding surge.
