I know, right?
Often outnumbered, never outpunned.
Note: in Ireland 'ye' is used as the plural of 'you'. It rather neatly avoids confusion online.

Re: ClickQuest
The server should always be resurrected within an hour (maybe two) of dieing...unless I am asleep. Then it will be around 7:30am EST that it comes back up.
Just in-case you weirdo's PLAN around that sort of thing.

Re: ClickQuest
It'll be down for about an hour. Fugi went AFK to take care of some IRL stuff, and the game crashed. Go watch the new PATV, or a crapshots or three and come back in an hour.

Re: ClickQuest
I think they suspend the account so that people aren't trying to access a crashed server. It goes suspended every time the server crashes.

Re: ClickQuest
Actually, when I say "server crash" I more mean they automatically suspended me for "high system resource usage", which I suspect is caused by the high number of processes spawned to handle all the ajax requests. The solution is logging into my account and telling the system to unsuspend me, which is also automated.
Again, all hopefully fixed in 1.1, which I need to work on instead of just talking about >_>

Re: ClickQuest
Is it possible to build ClickQuest to be played primarily in your browser? You go to the URL & the game loads to your browser & everything is kept track of there, & only accesses the server when you refresh.

Re: ClickQuest
Shhh. I totally have not thought about that or a way to make it work. That won't be coming anytime soon. You haven't heard or thought about it at all.

Re: ClickQuest
Ah, so technically I was right that our benevolent patron has clout, because all the providers I've interacted with would NOT simply unsuspend me/my account just because I've asked.
...it could just be that Fugi is much less of a dick than I am, too.
Anyways, I'm about to leave for work, so I'll see you in CQ's chat in about eight-nine hours time.
Oh, and hear-hear on the booby-like front!

dwn, and i was 2 clicks away from next level.
Re: ClickQuest
I highly recommend using App Engine for version 1.1. However, you would have to re-write everything as it does not support PHP. But python is better anyway, you know? ;P

That seems like less a suspension and more a mild to moderate inconvenience. Just saying.

Re: ClickQuest
@davefp: Sorry, but no. My PHP experience is FAR greater than Python, and I truly believe it is neither the host nor language causing the issues, but my own perverse implmentation. I may have a new and better host for 1.1, with more control, power, and monitoring to allow for a more stable connection.
@Ryte: try a HUGE inconvenience. Imagine waking up, unsuspending the server, going to class, coming back to unsuspend the server, go to lunch, unsuspend server, go to more class, unsuspend server during class. Etc, etc >_> It is tethering me to my laptop...which isn't far from normal anyway
That said, I love ClickQuest, and am having a great time running it. Hopefully you still "enjoy" "playing" it despite the flaws

Re: ClickQuest
a fun feature might be to have another grinding are where you right click mainly so we dont ruin our mice
also why does no one use grey there are only 8 of us
stuff should happen at level 100 maybe you get to go bold or italic or something
also 1,000,000 clicks should give an achievement
