this video made my corn snake moult.
I don't know if that is a good thing, but it is a thing.

Re: The Basement
I know I'm that happy when I get a sandwich, especially when someone serves it to me on an axe.
"I would rather pay tax than be dead! AARGH!!!"

Re: The Basement
Oh god I lost it at Jer's "I'm used to the axe!"
Haha this was great. So many great lines, and I love Tim's absolute delight at the sandwich. "The nightmare with all the pudding?" Lol so good.
Great writing from Graham, especially great acting from Alex, wonderful creepy voice by Jer (some day I want to play DnD with Jer as DM, he'd be so good!) and delightful sandwich adoration by Tim. A perfect video!

Re: The Basement
See, I knew it was CrapShots: The Movie. It was 3 times as long as the original source material!
All kidding aside, I quite liked this. Knowing what it was based off of made it even better.

Re: The Basement
We had some skepticism about expanding this Crapshot into a full video, but I'm personally extremely pleased with how it turned out.

Re: The Basement
I understand you skepticism, as most of the CrapShot videos probably wouldn't turn out very good if expanded, but of all of the ones that could be expanded, The Basement is one of the best, if not the best.
Re: The Basement
Not all Crapshots will work as longer videos, but this one did.
You do realise now that you need a book based on a Crapshot since we now have the feature length video and the game.

Re: The Basement
I think Tim's delivery of "Yaaay!" with that look of childlike glee made the perfect capstone to an already funny video.
Seems like Mr. Axe-For-A-Hand might come from the same neighborhood as the one shown in Killer Instinct. What with the inappropriate reactions to horrific events and all...
Edit: Added quotation marks... I'm so tired today...

Re: The Basement
The Yay! from Tim and Alex's look when delivering "Worse than cutting your hand with an axe" were the high points of a good episode.
It's good comedy like this that helps one transition into University.

I'll do it. I needed ideas for my NaNoWriMo novel anyway.
Also, the video was really funny! The yay from Tim made everything even better.
Re: The Basement
I think that, having seen the Crapshots that started that way, the sense of déjà vu actually made the opening creepier. Like, "Wait, I've seen this before... no it was a... wait, what? This is the same but different! Hold me, I'm scared!"
Er... at least that's what I got out of it.

Re: The Basement
Great. Tim's 'Yay!' is the perfect send-off. My only complaint is that it's difficult to rate it highly after the wonder that was Trivial, possibly my new favourite vid of yours.

One of the great things about the Crapshots in that while they are generally 30 seconds to a minute long, they perfectly self-contained and don't really need expanding. That said, this is probably one of the best ones to expand, and it worked well.

That's good because doing a 5 minute long version of 'The Punishment' or 'The Accusation' would have been dragged out waaaaay too much.

Re: The Basement
When I saw the title, and then the first few lines, I did this: ŏ_ŏ
Then it got going, and I was all liek this: ^_^
The it got to the end and I lol'd.
(Incidentally, if anyone can tell me what character to use for the proper 'wtf stare' face, that would be awesome.)

Re: The Basement
Honestly, when I watched this I thought that the Crapshot had been an alternate take from the beginning of this video, and only later realized this is an expansion.
What about an entire video of all The Punishments together.... hmmmmmmmmmmm

Re: The Basement
One of the original plans for the Crapshots was to "test pilot" LRR video ideas.
Of course... most Crapshots would never EVER work as anything more than what they are but, from the day we shot it, this one struck me as something that had legs.
I'm really happy with how this one turned out!

Re: The Basement
Oh yeah!
We shot the original while we were in Jer's Dad's basement shooting Stitch in Time.
Then, while we were down there shooting this one, we shot Friday's Crapshot... and today's!

Re: The Basement
Like everybody else, Tims childlike on christmas "Yaayyyyy" was the best.
Funny ass video too "why did you just knock me out again? I finish cutting your stupid wood and knock me out"

Re: The Basement
For me, serving the sandwich on the flat of the axe was pure brilliance. I also had an odd sense of deja vu upon seeing the title of this one, especially since I had just watched the second Crapshot set in the basement, but my logic centres finally caught up with the rest of my brain.
A solid instalment. And good to see Tim in action once again!
I think there's some potential here to continue the basement theme. I mean, what if Alex just continually has really bad days? And Jer just really wants to make friends but lacks the basic social skills and opposable thumbs to shake hands.
It's this humanity that makes the character so relatable to me.
That and my monstrously deformed limbs.
