Hit one major bug so far, which nearly proved game-breaking, but it sorted itself out. Playing on hardcore mode. Went to the correctional facility. Got hit by dynamite. Got in a battle with six dudes. Ended up with every single piece of my body crippled. and 24 hp. Escaped the building, and quickly fast-travelled to goodspring to see the doctor. When I arrived at goodspring, the agro carried over with me to the residents, and doc mitchell came at me with a knife. Being the only doctor I'd met in the game to that point, and with no doctor's bags, this was an issue.
thankfully after a quick travel to primm and back the game got itself figured out.
Hardcore mode is cool. Glad I have the gamestop exclusive vault 13 cantten though. Slows the dehydration tick down considerably.

You know, the aggro following you is bad, but at least every time you go into a town the people there don't run away for no apparent reason...
The canteen thing is unexpectedly handy, granted it's not as useful for a regular playthrough, I find the mild auto-regen it provides is hands...
But I ALSO bought a HP regen implant after using the Primm casino exploit to net me a couple thousand caps (and some excess NCR/Legion cash) and it seems that this game, be you in hardcore or NOT, has decided that you pretty much don't wanna fuck around. I've discovered it's... Really risky to get into things way over your head. I mean hell, I wasted 5 super stimpaks and 15 regular ones trying to defeat ONE blind deathclaw.
ONE
BLIND
DEATHCLAW.
Now, anyone else would gladly go, 'OMG, SO UNFAR!!!1!!111!' but I'm just gonna recognize it as Obsidian restoring the 'deadliness' to the deathclaw. The overall increase in difficulty has been, for the most part, welcomed. It's encouragement to focus on the quests, to be careful with your exploration AND forces you to make GOOD decisions about what to spend your skill increases and perks on. And most importantly, to remind the player that they are not 'gods' and that not everything can be defeated right from the get go.
Enjoyment of the level scaling being absent aside, I'm 'seriously' hoping for an increase of the level cap to level 40 or 50 in a future expac.
