To each his own, I guess, because I laughed the hardest at that.Slack Mesa wrote:Halfway through the video, I thought, "if it weren't for you meddling kids." Thus I smiled at the stinger, but I stopped smiling at the last word. I don't have any objection to profanity in general, but in this case it seemed forced.

If it had being Tim, he likely would have said meddling hacks. However with Matt, star of "Son of a Bitch", and well known for his vulgarity, "hacks" would have being far more forced from him (or at least, his character), than "assholes". To me, it seemed like a perfect "crotchety old Matt" line.

Re: Trapped
Thanks, Lord Chrusher. My camcorder feels emasculated now, but at least I'm the wiser.
I just now realized that Zombaholic has a point. There is a two-minute-and-forty-second continuous shot right at the end. That's a damn long shot and a lot of interaction. Makes you wonder how many takes that took.

The curse in the stinger made me laugh the hardest, BECAUSE I was expecting "brats" and then he says assholes i lost it.

I love how you wrote yourself into the part that required learning the fewest number of lines (except maybe for Taly). You knew what you were doing when you wrote this one, didn't you? [insert wink here]
Yeah, I did a lot of lying around, prompting the quote from Paul "I see what you did there: I'm not even in this video and I'm doing more work than you!"
Also, the camera make was just a random detail ... Because little details add realism (or at least that's what the Dungeon Master's Guide leads me to believe) .

WOW great video! So good! Almost reminiscent of pre-escapist Hustle.

I believe Kathleen conjured them up from the underworld using ancient black magics.

I think you have the cast mixed up. The one with the light coloured hair is Tim. The one with dark hair is James. And the one playing the drums is Ringo.

Re: Trapped
I thought this video was one of your best in a while. Although parody tends to be dependent on knowledge of the source material (which I am not really knowledgeable in), the sheer LRRness of this video made it awesome. Plus, in general, I am more fond of videos where you are yourselves rather than characters (cHustle, Phailhaus, behind-the-scenes content, etc.)
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.

It's called a "tithe."
A blood tithe.
I think sacrifice implies killing. And (I'm pretty sure) Kathleen's still alive.
"Flat beer or a lumpy mattress. Take your pick."
"I'd prefer a flat mattress."
"Hmm.. Well, it could be done.. If I take the lumps out of the mattress, and put them in the beer, you'd have a flat mattress and a lumpy beer!"

interestingly, when I suggested the stinger, I proposed it as "You meddling kids". It was at the suggestion of others that it became "you meddling assholes". To be fair though, they are kind of assholes. :p

Considering the cHustle vibe this video has, I think playing off that side of your character was a good choice. Copying a referenced line verbatim, without any semblance of personalization, would have made it like Family Guy. And nobody wants that.

Re: Trapped
The stinger reminded me a lot of the Scooby Doo live action movie, which ended with the villain saying "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling sons of bitches".
I laughed a during this video. I couldn't have hoped for a better halloween themed update

Re: Trapped
loved the video, also great that in the blog there was recognition that it could be part of the cH universe but the intro broke the flow, however putting the intro at the end with everyone in halloween costumes would have been sweet

Re: Trapped
Excellent video; I particularly enjoyed all the little references to things like Joystique, "The one with brown hair", etc.
By the way, if you don't want to telegraph in advance the fact that an episode is Hustle, it might be worth double-checking the Escapist blurb, because the line "LoadingReadyRun returns to the basement, but will they leave?" pretty much gives it away.

That does not mean that shed did not sacrifice someone or something else.

I guess I'd be arguing semantics, then. Blood sacrifice just sounded weird in my head.
