I think a secret Santa would be awesome, and much easier to organise/fund. [/brokestudent]

My impression was that this was going to be a Secret Santa-type deal. But then, I'm not in charge of it. I'll follow whichever guidelines are finalized.

Okay well let's do that then. I will take Wraith and my name out, so we will need one extra person to make it even.
Walk in like DeNiro, and leave like Brando.

Sign me up, I think I can manage sending just one person something.
Oh, what the hey, I'll make e-Christmas Cards for you all, and you can either leave them as-is or print them yourselves.

*briefly glances over the thread*
Oy, it seems that my questions kind of sparked a bit of a change in plans. Sorry, Siobhan?
Either way, whatever we decide on doing, I'm game. Just fill me in on the plan.

I was just thinking that! Gurl... you and my mind... I swear!
Re: The Official Christmas Baking/Craft/Card Exchange Thread!
Double Post!! Am I too late to join in? I'm up for a secret santa or card exchange either one... and there is no reason to take you and Wraith off the list.
There can be an odd number... just as long as everyone gets someone, it's often more fun if its random and not pairing. That way, you don't necessarily know who your card/gift is from until it shows up.

'm in. Sounds like fun.
Keep in mind that if we're doing recipes, we should try to keep region-specific stuff out of them or provide alternatives. Ask if you need to. Just sayin'.

Often outnumbered, never outpunned.
Note: in Ireland 'ye' is used as the plural of 'you'. It rather neatly avoids confusion online.

Sadly I'm much too broke this year for a secret santa, as much as I love them...

Re: The Official Christmas Baking/Craft/Card Exchange Thread!
I think it's too late to do an "Official Secret Santa" like the one where we give a gift everyweek, or a note everyweek. I think what will happen is I will draw names out of a hat, and give you the name of the person you get and you can send them a Christmas card, and if you want to send them a small gift of your choice you can do that too. (I only mention that because it was mentioned here earlier). You won't be paired up. It's not like 2 steps if you got Fayil, then Fayil would get you.. she would get someone else. I took Wraith and I out of the list because it's not a secret santa if I'm drawing my own name, and I don't want whoever gets us to be disappointed because it's not a secret surprise.
So does that make sense to everyone? I will go down the list of names and draw a secret santa for you. Then I will give you the name and address of that person, and you can send them something for the holidays.. whether it be a card, or a card with candy in it, or a mix tape confessing your love for them.
Is everyone okay with this idea?
And good call on the region specific stuff. I think after the holidays are over I will be making a seperate post baout the LRR Forum Cookbook, with more details and hopefully more response.
