I agree. That chicken was much more endearing than any other character I've seen in a long time, especially during opening scenes. Hilarious as always.

I am one of those that was actively cheering for the chicken through the whole thing. Getting shot after all that work just felt...anticlimactic. Like he deserved more.

Re: Fable III
To anyone wondering: Chicken Steadycam.
I too was rooting for the chicken throughout. Really, why did people have it in for him so much? I mean, after the cook chased it out of the kitchen, did he really have to go after it with a blunderbuss? Couldn't he have just waited for the (hopefully) non-lead-filled chicken he presumably would have had on order? I don't know about you, but boxes of kettles are not generally my source for good quality chickens.

Absolutely. This completely bugged me too. I mean, the cook didn't even expect the chicken to be there, because the chicken wasn't supposed to be there. So why, for goodness's sake, was his first instinct to chase after it with an axe and later a SHOTGUN (goodness knows why he even KEPT that in his kitchen) instead of quietly herding it out of the door and going back to, you know, cooking?
Given that the chicken was obviously self-aware, and that chicken's aren't really a rare commodity or a dangerous threat, that was just a waste of a perfectly good bid for freedom.
TL;DR - Apparently the cook took Graham + Paul's jab about the age of oppression for chickens literally.

Well, he is a cook, and ingredients may have been scarce. I would have been more upset had he'd been a blacksmith or a mage or something.

...aww, and now I'm all sad.... in a chickeny sort of way..., I'll now have to drown my sorrow in a bucket of KFC.
Is it just me, or does this game seem to have an unusually high amount of time spent on animals? I would say I hope they don't go too far with that idea, but as they've already done 'sleeping with your own dog'...what else can I say.

If it was a rutty tavern down by the docks, I would agree with you. But that looked like a pretty upscale establishment. One that could afford non-lead-filled chickens that do not arrive with the teapots.

Re: Fable III
Yeah, that's the castle kitchen.
Weirdly, once IN the game, when you get to that location, a blackened chicken runs out that same door, and gets away.

Man, that whole chicken sequence may be the best cinematic production in any video game EVER MADE.

I can agree with that. I agree it was unnecessary for him to do that, but I'm not "upset" about it, but only because he's a cook.

Having grown up on a steady diet of my father's puns, I am inclined to disagree, and say 'well played, Slack Mesa'.
