AskLRR - Closes April 30th @ Whenever we start the podcast!

Postby James » 30 Apr 2011, 08:30

Sorry guys, I'm really bad at remembering to put this thread up. I've now set a twice monthly reminder on my phone to throw this thread up a couple days before the podcast, and not just a couple hours.

Ask away! And if you don't see this in time, there is always next time!!

In the podcast for Omni-Lingual, James promises that the Season 5 DVDs will be out by December 31, 2009. Matt says that's too optimistic and promises the DVDs will be out around the time Diablo III is released. Any chance Matt is actually right on this one?

Have any of you been rock climbing? If so where?

What is the largest change in elevation you have made up your own power? (What is the highest hill/mountain/building you have walked up?)

What is the highest elevation you have been to? Aeroplanes do not count.

To answer my own questions I climb somewhat regularly, usually indoors. I walked to the top of Fairfield in the Lake District, a vertical distance of over 800 metres from the valley floor to the top of the hill. The highest elevation I have been to is the top of Mauna Kea at 4200 metres above sea level.

I've recently bought an Xbox and seeing as I'm incredibly late to the party, are there any Arcade games that I should definitely pick up?

Also, what do you think of the new series of Doctor Who so far? (assuming it's been shown in Canada)

If you could have the effect of any Magic: The Gathering card in real-life (summoning a specific creature or casting a specific instant, sorcery, etc.), which would it be?

Do any of you have a Commander deck and if so how is it built? Do you have any tips for building Commander decks?

I know you answered this on twitter, but Johnny Lunchbox, What happened to him and do you have any of his scripts left that you'd like to film one day?

If the game fairy granted you all one wish, what would it be? For instance it could be a game you wish was made differently (or by someone else), a game you wish was never made, a game you wish got made or maybe a game that is in the making that you wish would get a release date.

Since New Phyrexia leaked, Wizards has acknowledged it and responded by posting the whole set on their site (because why not make sure they get the hits?). With that in mind, what cards from the next set have you the most excited?

1) The recent Extra Credits episode about Other M reminded me of the Game Overthinker's video (Movie Bob's video series on games/whining) on the matter, and it got me thinking: for those who have seen both videos on Other M (EC and GO) which one did you agree with? I personally agreed with EC and thought GO couldn't be further from the truth.

2) If you had the time or the money to do so, would any of you work on a regular basis for a charity group or foundation? If so which one?

3) Which would you prefer: to do a video that took a short amount of time to do but was somewhat un-noteworthy or un-re-memorable or a video that took a long amount of time to do but was very memorable?

4) Perhaps this is more appropriate for TGwP, but has the shutdown of PSN affected anyone in the group? What is your opinion on the lawsuit filled against Sony on behalf of all PS3 owners? I personally don't like the suit and I feel unpleasent knowing that I am attached to it.

5) Anyone watch Game of Thrones?

6) Following from Lyinginbedmon's question of "If you were a Magic card, which one would you be?", if a Magic card was made and it was based off of you, what type of card would it be and what would be it's effects/stats?

7) If you were working for a game company and you had to do a remake of a game, would you rather want to remake a good game so that a newer generation can play it or would you rather remake a bad game so you can go back and fix what was wrong with it? As an extra, which game would be remade?

Hi, don't know if this has been asked before but will Gibb and/or LRR labs ever be making return.

Also I see you mentioned daily drop is coming to a end soon, are there any plans to do another set of items?

To each member present - what was the first video you got roped in to helping with / appeared in (if different)?

Also, which set was hardest to get access to? For example you mentioned recently the problems you had shouting offensively in a park.

I know the crew has a lot to do already, but will we ever see more Desert Bus footage? I'd dearly love to see some more videos, both for my own entertainment and so I can show them to my friends. Even if you only put one up every month, it'd be nice to be able to watch it again.

Recently, I have been rereading my immense cache of Terry Pratchett's discworld novels, and the other day, I noticed that Rincewind has been illustrated by cover artists in two very different ways: either like this (on the left)

or like this
Image.

Which is closer to how you picture him? Personally, I prefer the second version.

What would you say is the single most important thing to keep in mind when deckbuilding?

And:

Have/Do any of you become members of the website Magic League since you started playing Magic again OR Do any members of LRR use the program MagicWorkstation?

And:

If you could be Timelords, what would your titles be? (EG: The Doctor, The Master etc)

Thanks! This is my first AskLrr. Huzzah.

:)
