The Canadian one is York University, not University of York.

Good to have another physical science PhD student on the forums. No internet cookie for guessing what I am doing my PhD in.
When you say next 30 years when should we really expect it?

I'm Seth, sethzard on the escapist. I have been watching the forums for a while and thought I'd created an account but obviously not. I live in the UK and am in secondary school. Hi everyone.

Yay to fellow physical scientist.
When I say 30 years, I am hopping this is the maximum time. The reason for this is due to the demands on Moore's law to continue. If Moore's law were to continue at it's present rate, silicon will obsolete within 12-25 year (http://people.ccmr.cornell.edu/~davidm/David_A_Muller_files/gox-comment.pdf)
In short, if we go by XKCD time, viable graphene is within the 10 year range.

Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)
I don't normally do intro posts on forums, but after Graham referred to me as "kid" in recent The First Wonder LRRcast (no blame on him, I admit I look young in my pic, and even if he was generalising I should still probably have a proper forum intro post), I figured it might be worth properly announcing myself.
Hi, I'm a 22 year-old graphic designer without a job, I studied "Applied Graphics with Multimedia" for 4 years at Glasgow Caledonian Uni, graduating last November.
I enjoy a wide range of hobbies including skiing, kayaking, gaming, singing & hiking.
As you may have heard in the above LRRcast I have only been a LRR fan since DB4, which was the first time I paid them any attention as I was only an infrequent visitor to the Escapist.

Um, I'm a little scared of getting hate for stating this, but I'm a 14year old (Hey, not all of us are bad!). I'm from England, and I live in the capital. Although I haven't watching LRR for too long (3-4 months), I'm a little sad in the way that I've watched every LRR, cH, ISC, ENN and Unskip available on the website.
When all there is are shades of grey, I arrive to turn the world red

That just leaves waiting for all the following episodes. If you want check out Graham at work with The Idiot Room on YouTube.

Sup Everyone, I am a 21 year old college going student looking to major in Drafting, been switching around a bit. Music, gaming, hanging with friends and of course school covers most of my time spent. Really started to listen and follow LRR when Unskippable started to be shown. From the States, living in PA. Oh yeah, love TF2, weather or not I am good at it has yet to be determined.
Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)
Hi, greetings from Finland. 23-year old ITC student with a deep interest in music and all audiovisual stuff, LRR being the driving force behind the idea of getting into this business.
Some might remember my name popping up in some of the past ItM streams. Finally decided to get myself registered in here(as I'm not that fond of being in forums in general).
First LRR video being 3PS3s back in whenever it was a youtube hit. Started on massive fanboy-ism when you premiered on escapist. Was in there only for ZP, and when Unskippable came I snoop'd around your site, made hollow promises to myself to check your old stuff out and then forgetting the whole thing. After that when you made the premiering video which "brought us up to speed", I _HAD_ to make thru all the old videos before starting on the new ones.
And that is my story. Nice to meet y'all. Ask away if you want to know something.

Hey, I'm Rob, I'm 20 and from Connecticut, but now I'm in New York studying Electrical Engineering.
I like to play a lot of games and do anything related to frisbee (ultimate, golf, etc.) and i'm getting pretty into magic more recently.
I heard about LRR from my sisters when they were watching Desert Bus 3. I watched some of that and then started watching videos, and since then i'm been an avid watcher.
Anyways my life's not too eventful so i'm not gonna go into that now, but i like to think i'm a pretty chill kid, so message me if you want.
Thanks,
Rob

Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)
wow, this is a looooong thread.
anyway, I'm Andy, or Thatguyinthehat everywhere else and I'm from Brisbane, Australia. I'm a first year film major, so I'm kinda deeply into the short film wackiness that LRR offers. Have been a fan for about a few years now, but only just made a forum account after getting into the podcasts and AskLRR.
So, my first question...
where is the question thread located?

Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)
To prevent the large back log of questions that built up the crew create a thread in the LRRcast about a day before they record a podcast. They lock the thread shortly before recording it.

Hi my name is Dan Steinberg. My friend introduced me to LRR a few months ago and since then I have watched quite a few videos. I live in Bethlehem, PA, USA. My hobbies include: starting awkward conversations, pinning tails on live donkeys, fishing, watching bad TV, debating with myself, debating with my elf, counting coins, slacking off, loitering, Sceince!!!, pseudoscience, and any form of tomfoolery. As you can tell by my last name I'm Jewish but only through ethnicity. And my favorite stereotype is that Bose makes the best Stereo systems.
All problems can be solved by trebuchets and/or fire.

Hi, my name is Ross. I'm from the UK, studying in Edinburgh, currently living in Singapore. I recently started watching LRR and after making my way through most of the back-catalogue found these forums. It seems like a good place so I thought I'd sign up.
See you around, I guess.

Hi, my name is William.
I'm from Puerto Rico I've been watching LRR for quite a while now but never decided to post in their forums till now. Love their shows and that's pretty much it. Commodore Shuffles are the best IMO.
