Re: CheckPoint Episode 1 - Into the Breach
Thank you for all the feedback. We like to think of this as a successor to ENN with some new tricks up it's sleeve.
HOLY SHIT GUYS! BEARS!
Re: CheckPoint Episode 1 - Into the Breach
Is "Into the Breach" the official episode title now? I ask for wiki purposes.
Re: CheckPoint Episode 1 - Into the Breach
Yes! Escapist News Ne...er, I mean Checkpoint! (Phew, close one.)
Hey, is my PS3 safe if it is white, shaped like a thin box, has a slot on the front for discs, and uses wireless motion sensing controls?

Guys this is great! LOVED it. The graphics are really cool, the reporting was funny as hell, the music was brilliant....and you're on PATV! You should get TONS more traffic to the site. Can't wait to see more Checkpoint.
It's turtles all the way down.

This is awesome. There has been so much news that has gone un-commented on, but at last we can laugh again. I'm especially glad you were able to get this out in time to get some digs in on Sony.
My PS3 is irregularly shaped, about twenty feet tall, and has long sticks coming off of it that end in lots of small, pointy, green spikes. Is it safe?

My PS3 is green has a code lock, and holds all my material posessions. Is it safe, and more importantly is it a safe?

Congrats on infiltrating even more of my rss feed, and pushing other fine products into the backlog section. I hate you all for entertaining me in such a time consuming fashion.

Ahh... it's nice to see ENN back under a new handle. Does feel snappier now, though.

About halfway through, and had to stop because I'm in class, but it's definitely great so far. My only gripe would be that I don't like the color scheme, but that's just because I don't like those colors, especially together, not because of any inherent flaw.

My playstation is mostly white with grey grills on the sides and with 3/4 of a red circle of light on the front. It no longer turns on. Am I safe?

Yes. Your Playstation is in fact a red-ringed early model Xbox, and since it no longer turns on, it's about as safe as it can be. Useless, but highly safe.
And my question:
My Playstation is man shaped, holding a gun in my face and repeating the phrase, "Give me your wallet and your phone! Dammit, stop looking up webpages and gimme your wallet!" Am I safe?

Also, I imagine that you'll be drawing even more people for Desert Bus this way. Good luck, guys. You're going to need it.

I should probably clarify this a tad...
It isn't that I hate LRR, or Penny Arcade, or even the content of CheckPoint (I actually did enjoy it quite a bit, especially given that it mirrors ENN in many aspects).
More, I'm irritated that Penny Arcade is getting still more online subscribers from still more avenues of entertainment, when they already borderline-monopolise the webcomic readership.
As a webcomic artist and author of nearly 4 years myself, Penny Arcade is a member of the elder peers that are doing some serious harm to the industry, for which I don't really blame them but they (and others like them) don't really redeem themselves by continuing to increase their readership figures like this. The elder webcomics make it very hard to start up, let alone succeed, in the webcomics industry because, simply put, the capacity does not exist to compete with them.
So yeah, enjoyed the video, dislike the implications its location has for my industry.

You, not so much. Your phone and wallet, on the other hand, will shortly be in the possession of one much better equipped for keeping “his” belongings secure.

My PS3 is a very large fire-breathing dragon with metal plates welded to his jaw and a menacing demeanor. He keeps insisting that "Azeroth shall burn!" or things of that nature. Am I safe?

Wait, there's an RSS feed? I hunted around for a while, but I couldn't find one... where is it?
Is CheckPoint going to show up in the LRR video archive at some point, like all the Escapist series do?
Also, I'm torn... on one hand, ugh, Penny Arcade... but on the other hand, yay, more ENN-type videos...
While no one overhear you quickly tell me not cow cow.

Your PS3 is actually the dragon Deathwing, and is therefore safe from outside attack from those who would steal your personal information.Serisothikos wrote:My PS3 is a very large fire-breathing dragon with metal plates welded to his jaw and a menacing demeanor. You may be burned to a crisp, but your CC info is all good.

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1 - Into the Breach
Faaaaaaaantastic. So happy to get my fill of LRR-comedy-news-show-ness, under any title. It's not as if I even care particularly about current gaming news; I just love the show format.
Not so keen about the colour scheme, particularly with that style of graphics. Personally I'd prefer a different shade of red, but I definitely think you should ditch the grey. It looks like some horrible preset colour scheme that no one actually uses.
I once spent several seconds in a room with a guy who once owned a PS3. Am I safe?
