I'm thinking that any current blue/something infect deck that does not have a full set of Blighted Agents is doing something horribly wrong, so thats good then :)

Other than that, I'd remove your normal damage creatures for more infect. Unless you splash black and use some Phyresis, they're not helping your main damage source. As for other spells, Not bad, cards like leaf arrow, shared discovery, defensive stance I'd consider taking out for some more buffs/counters.

As an aside, I wonder how it would work if you had that Melira - Sylvok Outcast down, as well as Phyrexian Unlife. Would that essentially break the game until such point that one/both are removed/exiled?

I don't have a ton of cards. But, I'll take some of this into consideration. Timbermaw is the really the only non-infect creature, and I could replace him with something... I'll have to sort through my cards

Also, it should be noted, the crazy combo?

Melira and Etched Monstrosity.

5 for a 10/10?

So today was the first time I had a chance to get my hands on New Phyrexia. Opened ten packs and pulled four mythics, including Karn. Think I might go buy a lottery ticket now too.

In other news, (and per theDreamer's mention of the combo) I'm looking at maybe building a melira+eched monstrosity deck.

Super rough ouline so far:

4x Etched monstrosity
4x Fauna Shaman
1x Melira, Sylvok outcast
4x Asceticism
4x Cultivate
4x Unnatural Predation
4x Overwhelming Stampede
4x Sylvan Ranger
4x Llanowar Elves
4x Darksteel Plate
1x Omnath, Locus of Mana
22x Land

Thoughts?

I might consider Elvish Archdruid in place of Cultivate. Riskier, but with a higher potential reward in my mind.

That's a cool deck idea though. I don't think I have the cards for it, but I might see if I can pull something similar together.

It goes:

White/Red (depending on your playstyle)
Green
Blue
Black

In my opinion, at least. Though you could swap blue and green if your playing a combo deck.

...Black should have been "return target creature with cmc x or less, where x is the number of charge counters on this card."

Cuz that's actually USEFUL. Though that's just a Geth plus green combo in one card.

No it's not.

Unless you're creatures/artifacts have flash, you'd get the mana, and then it'd vanish as your main phase started.

Certainly so when the "mana empties at the end of each phase" is paid rigorous attention to, but my play group if no-one else certainly takes a looser interpretation.

Oh hai blightsteel.

Meet my blightsteel.

I'm having flashbacks to Darksteel Colossus and how funny it was to see two of them staring down at each other. Not quite as funny as two Blightsteel Colossi, who just melt each other.

Yeah.

Only, that's just one use of a metamorph.

Copy swords.

Got a Dreamstone Hedron on the field? Copy it. Free mana, great for an eldrazi deck.

TWO Norn's Annex on the field? God, neither of us can do anything.

...Oh god, copy a Spine of Ish Sah.

Instead of costing 7 it only costs 4, and can still be recycled.

Two Magus of the Moat?

Which has, combined with Linvala Keeper of Silence and Iona Shield of Emeria, become one of the most despised cards of all time in my group. Basically turns entire games into sitting matches. Linvala is more a personal annoyance, since both my decks are pretty creature-effect heavy, whilst the straight-colour players seriously hate Iona.

Any opinions on the dickery to be had with Iona Shield of Emeria and Painter's Servant?

With Elvish Piper, you can have Iona out on turn 5. She's too big for most damage spells, so she'll probably last a turn depending on the colour you pick and what your opponent is playing.
Play Painter's Servant the same turn (because Piper obviates the mana cost of Iona) and choose the same colour, thus making everything in your opponent's deck the banned colour. Your deck is the same, but you aren't affected by Iona, so you get to play spells all you like, you could run this combination in a pure-Green deck.

Not Standard-legal by any means of course, but in more casual play this is what we call "Fuck you, get out of my house". This seems like the sort of play cHUSTLE Alex would play against James ("Now you can't cast spells, ever.") and were I ever to make a White deck, probably something I'd run as well (because at least in my group, "White deck" is synonymous with "dick deck")

Combine Painter's Servant with Grindstone and you've got the "I mill your whole deck" aspect going too.

Iona is widely regarded as an 'I win' card, and also generally considered "not fun". I run one in my angels deck, but with no tutoring or cost reduction, because I like having friends.

My (former)roommate forced me to play EDH with him on cockatrice.

I threw together a not at all serious Ezuri deck. As in, most of the deck were elves. Like, except for a Nissa and an Elvish Promenade, everything were creatures.

He saw which my commander was, and switched from Iona as his commander to Linvala.

Talk about "dick."

Also, he actually OWNS the angel deck he played against me. 200 dollars. Fuck knows I'm never playing against it. And considering his playgroup is me and my girlfriend, talk about a waste of 200 bucks.
