One thing I noticed was that Amy thinking she is talking to the ganger Doctor tells the Doctor that she saw the Doctor die.

Yeah, I'm sure that's going to be an important plot point later in the season. First up of course: Rescue Amy.

The main story of the episode was more enjoyable than last week, though I still didn't think the story was great. The last 5 minutes and the twist completely made up for it though. I really didn't see it coming at all.

People wondering where the Doctor got another sonic screwdriver from remember; the Tardis can apparently make new ones/replacements. I assume he got a replacement one at some point between leaving the acid factory, dropping off the people they rescued and talking to Amy at the end.

Personally, my favourite bit of that episode was right at the beginning when the flesh doctor was stabilising and we had Tom Baker asking if you wanted a jelly bean. Whoever had that thought, they were an absolute genius and I love them for that moment.

Rest of the episode was fairly meh. Kinda guessed that the two Jens who were fighting when Rory walked in on them were both flesh.

Also it was definitely the real Doctor that Amy told about his death, given the line just before Flesh Doctor sacrificed himself, the real Doctor said something along the lines of "At least I didn't have to be invited to this one1"

Rather simply he could have gotten a spare pair of shoes from inside the TARDIS, after all that's the reason he didn't before: the TARDIS was buried in acid.

Right, but didn't the Doctor (and flesh-Jen) make the point that killed remote-controlled flesh shells was murder? I thought that the idea was that they could tell that they were dying.

"Why!?"

I think it was because The Doctor was angry that his theory was correct, and we all know how he can get when he's angry (see; The Time Lords)

Saw the screwdriver switch and wondered aloud about it during the episode. Also, figured she was telling the original Doc. I think my guess was the closest about Amy, because I did throw VR in there, and that's somewhat similar. Oh, and also guessed that they were both Ganger Jens.

The double ganger jens i called.
before the doctor even said anything about the shoes but the camera shows them i guessed the doctor was going to give his clone the real shoes so the clone would be left with them and he would be sent to the clones when the humans enevitably kicked him out. (mostly right :D)
i said from the start that it was either a dream or an alternate reality amy, so i guess...half right on the second guess.

though i was close with my guess about the clone getting acid'd as well, i mean, he would have if he hadn't self destructed before hte acid got there.

Didn't watch the teaser for the next ep, if it is going to be a two parter with the second half months away i'll just let it sit untill the next part is released, one less cliff hanger to deal with.

I'm ok with there being no more Daleks for a while. RTD really over used them: they all kept dying and then coming back. Die, they're back. Die, they're back. It was comical by the end.
So, having a break from them? I'm fine with. We have enough to deal with already.

As for Rory? I've heard that rumor before. Who knows. He could be speaking in the past tense because Rory's over, or because he's finished the current season of Doctor Who and is playing another character now (now being when the article was written). We can only wait and see.

The reason they used them so much in the RTD era is, as far as I know, because the Nation estate said they had to use them every series or the license was revoked.

The BBC now own the liscence outright.

Excuses excuses... RTD could have been a bit more clever in their use IMO.

I really liked this episode. Yes, it was pretty easy to work out what was going on with the dual-Jen etc, but it was still a good, enjoyable Doctor Who.

Also, the ending was creepy. Really creepy. Can't wait till next week :D

It shows that cliffhangers, when done right, can be awesome.

Though, for the best use of cliffhangers in a show, you have to watch True Blood.. There's a reason why I watched all three seasons in four days.

pfft, 4 days? i done it in 3 and a half.
nah, in all seriousness i watched through the first season in a day thought "Woah, maybe i should space the other two out."
waited a day then said "nah, fuck this." and started burning through them over the next 5 days.

I think that was sort of... I don't want to say "glossed over", but certainly dealt with by The Doctor's line: "Based on what we've learned I'll be as humane as possible, but I need you step away."

Except I think that version of Amy was the RC clone kind, not the autonomous version.

Quite certainly, since the other, autonomous, Flesh clones were connected to control systems in the building that was struck by the solar pulse, whereas her control system, besides clearly being more technologically advanced, was elswhere entirely.
