It must have scales and fins, but I had no idea the dietary whatzit of such fish.

The only "fish" I can think of without scales and fins are mammals (and carnivorous/omnivorous), and sharks (nom nom meat).

Catfish are smooth skinned, no scales. They do have fins though. Just FYI.

Intriguing!

I honestly don't care for fish.

They smell both alive and dead, and are neither cute nor tasty.

I'm not very fond of fish either.

I could totally live kosher.

No meat and cheese in the same meal.
No pork products.

Do you really wanna go kosher?

It was hard enough being kosher when I was at camp, and I didn't have an option regarding it.

Every person I have ever met, will ever meet, or is living today will eventually die.

This includes my mother, my sister, my nephew, and all of my friends.

This includes me.

I realise this every. Single. Day. And it always throws me.

Also:

People think and talk about me when I'm not there. This will never stop being weird to me.

Go look at the sky now.

We're looking at the same sky.

Go look at the sun, see how small it is in the sky?

We're looking at the same piece of sky, if it's daylight in your part of the world and mine...

At one point, I realized that absolutely everything is interesting if you look at it close enough.

Soon after, I realized that that's pretty much my life's philosophy.

The activity in your brain is an electrical impulse passing through a series of gates that are reacting based on the sum of their inputs and nearby chemical activity.

The activity in your computer is an electrical impulse passing through a series of gates that are reacting based on the sum of their inputs and ancillary electrical activity.

What you perceive as seeing is based on what your eyes register and how your brain interprets the data.

What your monitor displays is based on the input information it receives and what its processor calculates as an output.

I always thought it was cool that there is no chemical difference between eating a candy bar and setting it on fire.

C6H12O6-->CO2 + H2O + Energy

I know I didn't balance that equation, but that's what I'm talking about.

Edit: I didn't see you were a biochemist. Please accept this ecologist's oversimplification of things.
