Re: LRRCraft presents: LRR Dedicated TF2 Server
So... getting a Half-Zaidouchi is fun. Not fun? Having Advanced Options set it up so that's ALL YOU EVER SPAWN WITH (effectively).
I need booties if I'm ever going to go with that loadout.

The Half-Zaitouchi is better for the Soldier than the Demoknight. The Persian Persuader does the same damage, has a larger melee range and will roughly heal you to full on kill (about 180hp for an enemies weapon) but you can also heal up from other peoples kills or plain ammo packs.
You do lose random crits with the Persuader, but the increase charge regeneration should make up for it, and you won't have to worry about another demoman or soldier one-shotting you with their own Zaitouchi.
and now; back to me.

ZATOICHI! HE WAS A BLIND SAMURAI! HIS NAME WAS ZATOICHI!

But with knives.
Re: LRRCraft presents: LRR Dedicated TF2 Server
The demo katana is one of the unnoticed demo melees. Being locked to melee, its perfect with the boots and a shield, but the Persuader is just better due to the fact that it allows healing from any ammo source, so even if one of your teammates steals the kill and you are stuck with an assist, you can take the ammo for health and still be able to switch to other weapons. The Persuader is useful even without a shield, but with a shield, its clearly the better option over the katana. My vote still stays with the Eyelander, because damage from a shield bash goes up with each eyelander head, maxing out at double the regular damage with 5 heads. Plus, more max health and speed? Yes please.
Oh, and MowDownJoe, going to a resupply cabinet will allow you to switch back to your other weapons.

Provided you use it to take down damaged foes at close-range or in just plain melee, and never against someone else using it, the half-zatoichi is actually a pretty good Soldier weapon, and one of few ways the Soldier has to take down targets and heal at the same time.

Yes indeed, Remember. Though Order of the Stick and itself have rather diverged in terms of artistic style, it's now closer to stick figures with relatively high levels of detail.
Yeah well I saw some of your books at the game shop I go to, when I went to go get some Eldrazi packs.
I'm Ignorant, God...
Sorry I can't do that, it violates my three laws of robotics.

My original forays into art were inspired by Rich Burlew, who makes Order of the Stick, and my style is heavily inspired by Order of the Stick still too, but we're not associated at all.

Sniper honour duels do not work when every single one of my opponents decides to use a full charge body shot.

Sniper honour duels
honour
honour
honour
This is the internet, sir.
Re: LRRCraft presents: LRR Dedicated TF2 Server
You can still find honour in the battlefield. The problem ISN'T that it's the internet, it's the sheer difference in skill levels. Monkey, like me, is a particularly skilled sniper. He does way more of it so his skills are more polished than mine.
Now when someone can't get the headshot in someone that will kill them, they panic and resort to the easier, body shots to account for lack of skill. However, someone of a much higher skill fighting someone of equal skill will always try for the headshot because it's a sign of a skilled, experienced sniper.
It really is a duel when you're fighting an enemy sniper. And no other target exists for you. That ubered heavy will dance right past you and you'll not care. Just as long as you get that other sniper.

If an Ubered heavy dances past you, that heavy is doing something wrong.

I was an ubered spy today. Anything's possible.

The high point of the match was being able to properly headshot Levi while under fire.

Someone with good aim with the enforcer, or super good with headshots on the ambassador, might not be super horrible ubered.

Re: LRRCraft presents: LRR Dedicated TF2 Server
I can personally attest that large streaks of backstabs are possible when ubered, especially on payload. Mind you, that can happen pretty easily without an uber when everyone lines up so nicely...
Re: LRRCraft presents: LRR Dedicated TF2 Server
I went for the payload backstab chain when ubered. Went beautifully.

Seems like a switch died in the hosting facility. It should be back up sometime today.
