I prefer flavoured condoms, if any, but seeing as I use contraceptive I don't use condoms anymore. =)

Re: The Sex Thread
I ... don't see the point of flavoured condoms unless you are with a guy who needs to be tested or has a VD? Otherwise... there's flavoured lube? Am I missing something?

Re: The Sex Thread
I can only imagine it's to make things more palatable whilst giving head, beyond that the taste aspect seems pointless to me.

Re: The Sex Thread
Well, here's an issue:
Latex smell lingers.
If, say, a dude puts one on, uses it heartily, then discards it, both partners are left with the smell, and taste, of latex, all up in their business.
The flavour could, in theory, help if anything might occur AFTER.

Re: The Sex Thread
It's precisely to make giving head to men more palatable. I used to use condoms for giving blow jobs, partly because being safe is a good habit to be in, and partly because I found the taste without one off-putting.

Basically this. If you are a guy, you have thirty seconds after you finish to start work on your lady friend if you finish first. Flavored lube makes the ensuing steps taste less like latex.

Okay, so invest in flavoured lube, not flavoured condems. You're still going to get the latex taste.. wouldn't it be better to mask it with fresh flavoured lube vs latex with a faint strawberry taste?

Yeah. Like I mentioned before, they came in a variety pack and we didn't really like them.

Four Seasons Larger for us. But we don't really use them that often because I've got Implanon. And neither my significant other or myself have ever been big fans of usuing lube.
Like my mother horrifyingly said to me one, 'if you need to use lube then you're doing it wrong'.

Re: The Sex Thread
Your mother has obviously never had a monster cock aimed at her virgin muffin.
Just sayin.
Even when it's not needed, I like lube. Especially silicone. I know it's harder to clean up but it's like a slip n' slide. WWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Re: The Sex Thread
I don't necessarily agree with your mother, Yoshi_Gal. For a start, some ladies just don't produce as much natural lubricant as others. For another thing, there's perfectly fine sex acts other than vaginal sex, for which lube is... well, maybe not a must, but strongly advisable.

back to condoms, is it necessary/advisable to use one during head? Or is that just a thing to do with personal preference because ballsacks are sweatbags?

Typically only if your partner's meat hammer is not so pleasant tasting or he's possibly infectious (either from STD or anal {you never go ass to mouth}).

You can get STD's from a chick sucking you off. Throat herpes and shit.
I'm kind of a big deal.

Re: The Sex Thread
I don't think my mother is the best person for commenting on lube. So as much lube or as little lube for everybody! My significant other and I found that using it made it like trying to force two of the same type of magnet together. Not going to happen. But hey, I guess its lucky that I'm uh...naturally quite lubey?
And yeah, totally agree with what goat said about condoms and head. Meat hammer, must remember that one.

For both sexes, if you aren't in a relationship where you know without a shadow of a doubt the person is A.)a virgin or B.) Has been recently tested for a VD (remember some can lay dormant for a couple years) then yes there is a reason to. A guy can give a girl a VD that way, and vice versa.

Re: The Sex Thread
There are some STIs that don't transmit as easily through oral as through vaginal/anal, so there are a lot of people who think it's much less of a risk, but yeah, it's still possible. So it can help out with safety. Same with dental dams for giving head to women.
Plus, even if you're sure your partner is STI-free, it helps with the sweaty ballsack thing.

Re: The Sex Thread
On a note unrelated to condoms.
Only took me 16 days to get my way, in the end. And the funny part is that I was half-joking about really wanting to.
Turns out that he's willing to let go of his dislike of a character if it means talking about doing it in a supply cabinet.

Your mouth is far more likely to contain "open sores" and that includes bleeding capillaries from recently brushing or flossing (unless you do these things to your genitals... for some reason). So while there may be a lower risk it's due to reactions with saliva and contact with air. Also many STIs are contracted from skin contact, not fluid contact.
So better safe than herpes.

Re: The Sex Thread
Absolutely, aeric90. I'm a big proponent of using barrier protection in oral sex. I was just trying to explain why it's less common/head off the criticism that it's a lower risk activity. (It often is, but "lower risk" is a far cry from "no risk". And you are right that it depends on the STI... herpes and chlamydia transmit differently.)
