Woo kodra!
Great video, guys, just as I was hoping.
Also, for some reason I laughed when I noticed this was the video going up so late. I have no idea why.

Awesome! I thought myspace was livejournal, but I guess I was never on myspace long enough to get the full brunt of it.

Re: Socially Awkward
I remember JackSlack pointing me to this script ages ago and telling me how hilarious it was.
It was then, and it is now.
Although for a second, I too thought Graham was LiveJournal, rather than MySpace.

Re: Socially Awkward
Okay, I'm not a sociable guy so I have no idea how social sites work (broke google plus a number of times) so I have two questions:
Who was Cam supposed to be?
I know My Space has gone down the crapper but what does it mean that it has become Geocity?

Cam is orkut (which is what his shirt says). I have no idea what orkut does. I just know it exists.

Orkut is a Google social networking site that is really popular in (and currently based in) Brazil.

That was worth refreshing The Escapist all day for although I think you may have forgotten Cam in the credits.

HA!
This was just full of awesome stuff! Including but not limited to Jer as Facebook and the stinger with the only-140-character messages.
Sadly, I only have Google+, so I can't really relate to any of the other things. I do however appreciate the joke about adding Paul on a social network without really knowing who he is.

Re: Socially Awkward
I knew where this was going (yay for reading the Video Suggestions forum?) but still greatly enjoyed this. ^_^
Re: Socially Awkward
For me, one of the funniest parts was written underneath the video.
Social networks, by their nature, aren't really that social.

Wow it's kinda crazy to see this up. You guys did an awesome job, pretty much exactly what I was thinking when I wrote it, and the Facebook dialogue changes were awesome.

Awesome vid. Watched it with Sean, who hadn't read the post, and his reactions were priceless. Especially when Graham first appeared and he immediately went "Myspace."
Awesome delivery and as funny to watch as it was to read. Really cool.

Glad you think so!kodra wrote:Wow it's kinda crazy to see this up. You guys did an awesome job, pretty much exactly what I was thinking when I wrote it, and the Facebook dialogue changes were awesome.
Yeah, I wanted to tweak a couple small things and flesh out the FB section, but overall it's basically identical.
Re: Socially Awkward
I've never used a social networking site, but this was still awesome (and I knew Graham was MySpace real quick.) I don't know if I should be giving credit to kodra or LRR here... so everybody go buy yourself a cupcake or something! (I'll pay you back, I swear! :p)
Re: Socially Awkward
I have an Orkut account
I really enjoyed this one and I thought the acting was especially good here.

... I only just got why Orkut was hanging out with Google+. Of course they're under the same roof.

This was brilliant. Completely loved it. I also said "Hi Myspace." soon as I saw Graham and he started talking. Really hit all the bases in it, pulled off exactly right.

Re: Socially Awkward
I saw the script for this in the video suggestion thread a couple weeks ago & was excited to see it finally used. Everyone was well played but James as Google+ = win. This was hilarious & well done.
...I don't know if it's just me not getting around the Internet enough but I had no idea who cam was representing (he's not even in the credits.) Not being able to read his shirt didn't help either. (Anyone else finding the video choppy this week?) Was Orkut an obscure reference? I've not heard of it before today.

Maybe that's why there were so many problems with the video going up. The server rebelled against Kathleen's hair.

Re: Socially Awkward
kodra - you RAWK!
LRR - you took an excellent script and did it justice (as always)!
I, too, only heard of Orkut from the posts here (thanx Vig & Duckay) - the only suggestion I would've made would have been for Cam to sit up: the decal on the shirt seems to be getting 'washed out' by the sunlight coming in over his shoulder and the shirt's wrinkling makes the logo hard to read; I'd managed "O...U..." after watching it twice. :/
But great video that had me grinning throughout and chuckling at the start of each call. (oh, AND when Paul/Gary did his techie explanation of how he managed to track Susan down - he does that so well)
