So no Jacques Villeneuve?
The only ones that face reality are the ones too stupid to duck when they see it coming!

Wait, THEY don't even know who it is? So, what, they're getting the Zodiac Killer or the guy who shot JFK to drive the bus?

There are many people we tried to get. Most of whom were game, but we had a lot of trouble arranging for them to actually get into town.
Wil, for example, is even in Seattle the weekend we start! But he can't swing the time. He's super busy.

The Cigarette Smoking Man will be guest driving, then will manage to erase all evidence of that fact, despite several thousand people watching.

Re: Desert Bus
Some say, he created the first Desert Bus speed run.
Or that he refuels via bug splat.
All we know is, HE'S CALLED THE STIG!

Re: Desert Bus
Oh damn... I've been thinking about this ever since Graham mentioned it in the chat... but no, it has to be a giveaway, and I can't just put it in my calendar and be all excited about it...
On the other hand, the uncut MtG sheets are definitely going into my calendar once times are set, mostly so I can watch the spectacle. I can't see the rares sheet going for less than four digits.
I'm totally going to bid all the pigs for this, though. And I could never pass up these...

Re: Desert Bus
Silent are auctions that are run entirely from the site, If i remember correctly they can go for about 12 hours to a day, if tally or kathleen are around they tend to notice new ones starting and say "item X is now available for bidding in the silent auctions." over the stream, and then they aren't mentioned again, sort of like a more simple, scam proof EBAY.
Live auctions are hosted during the feed, mostly by Graham but others as well, last year there was a command for it that would make your writing giant and red on their screen so they could see who was bidding how much, though using it for anything other than serious bids during an auction would get you a kick from chat. These are the most fun, for instance last year Yahtzee called in to auction off one of his books, it went for about $600. They did the call in then at the end he offered another one... And it went for something ridiculous like $2,000.
Give aways are where if you have limited money to donate you can still have a chance at winning, you get things like last years "Write a desert bus lymeric." that you would write and then post on the DB facebook page, and the best one as voted by the crew got a prize. Others were things like the $5 give-away when anyone who donated $5 would get 1 entry to a hat, $55 was 2, $555 was 3 etc. but you could only enter once, so no bidding $5 20 times for 20 entrys. They were fun things for those of us who simply had tiny amount of cash, like me $120 last year. Granted i didn't win anything, but it was still incredibly nice to be apart of something, where-as in the latter few days especially the live auctions went something like this:
Graham: Right, bidding starts now!
Chat: Bid_50, Bid_200, Bid_500, Bid_2000
Graham: Okay bid is at fif-Two hundre-FIVE HU-TWO THOUSAND!
