The Decision-Makers

Postby Graham » 06 Aug 2004, 17:55

Using a new method of capturing the footage and a game with actual camera control, this went way smoother then Dungeoneers, and produced a spiffier looking final product, in my opinion.

But what does everyone else think?
Also, in general, do you like Machinima? We think it's neat, but that's us.

The table discussion was pretty funny, but you lifted the snow joke straight out of Finding Nemo. Like, word for word.

*cough*

Also, you and Paul need either more voice actors or far more rediculous accents.

Furthermore, I promise to have a Machinima of my own submitted soon.

Keep up the good work!

Um, we fully didn't steal anything from anywhere, jackass.
If there is a similar joke in Finding Nemo, then I don't remember it. We came up with this stuff on Monday, I promise you.

Also, we plan on getting more people in future, we were unable to this time.

There isn't even any snow in Finding Nemo. It's under water. In Australia!

Exhibit A:
Finding Nemo Script (pdf)

search for snow: no results

I suppose it's possible that we subconsciously used the idea from something we've seen, but it definitely wasn't Finding Nemo.

In fact, searching for "spy" showed no results as well. There was no "I Spy" to be had in that movie.

Now that we've dealt with Alex's silly ramblings, what do people think of the video?

A few points:

1. Freaking brilliant satirical device! Extremely clever and superior writing! Bravo! :D

2. I like Machinama very much (though I'll be damned if I ever learn to pronounce it properly).

3. This video had much better camera work and graphics. Jolly good job!

4. I OFFICIALLY OFFER MY SERVICES AS VOICE ACTOR. :D

Okay, not to be a nudge, but there fully is an I, spy scene in Finding Nemo. Go watch it.

Dorie, (the blue fish) keeps saying I spy something orange, and it's always Marlin (the orange fish). She keeps going and going because she has short-term memory loss, and he predicts her choices.

so just replace "orange" with "white", and "me" with "snow".

Don't make me rip the DVD and mail you an mp4.

MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!!

The conversation Alex is speaking of starts on the bottom of page 41 of the document to which Paul linked and goes on to the next page.

And you can search for the word "spy" and get no results because they don't use that phrase. They say "I'm thinking of something..." in the transcript. Mind you, I searched for the word "Nemo" and got no results so...

But back to topic, liked the update this week.

Can we all be friends again? :D

All the machinima videos are awsome! I particularly liked the table bit as well. Only you guys could think of characters having an arguement about something as odd as that.

p.s. Andrew Cownden (or at least someone who looked a hella lot like him) spotted Sunday, August 8th, 1:45pm at the bus stop up from 711 where Johnson and Douglas intercept.

Not to sound angry or spiteful or anything but my schedule this summer has been lax (as i have mentioned to a particular filmmaker) and there is no excuse for lack of actors voice or otherwise.
Again not angry or spiteful *cough* bay center takeover *cough*
