Featuring all the LotR characters you love... mentioned in vague references, while you play as a bunch of nobodies.

Ha it's the cut-price Fellowship. And my brain is trying to reconcile this with the movies or the book. Just... just no!

The best part is I am sure in a pitch meeting some guy was like "ok the fan boys are always up in arms because our games change the characters stories so they dont match the books right? What if we make NEW characters? and umm tell how its really them that made everything in the books happen we just didnt read about it"

BRILLIANT!

I really hope Aragorn was trying to pull a "Spies Like Us".

Let's send so jerks out to chump in the North "on a great quest" and hope they can buy the competent people some time. He's was just going to pay some drunks to do it before these guys walked in. I imagine later, he catches sight of them at his coronation and was like "You are guys still alive?

They did that - it was LOTR: The Third Age for PS2. That was actually a very enjoyable game if you ignored the fact it was basically using FFX's battle system.

Boromir: LoTR has no game. LoTR needs no game.
