Mine are pretty nice with all the squats and leg presses and such. Too much to ask for pictures isn't it? :D

I got interviewed in my campus newspaper about fitocracy.

Quotes from me are almost half the article. I think that means I'm better than the other people he interviewed. Either that or I talk a lot, which is more likely.

I guess I should go back to working out as much as I should.

Ooh, hey, thanks for reminding me to do my push-ups today.

...Wow, that is a lot of points.

... I'll get back to it, I promise! It's been a bad few weeks. I hurt myself doing my new routine and lost motivation. Time to start up again with a less running on the spot centric routine.

Why is it easier to exercise in the dark? I'm serious, actually. Biking, especially getting up hills, always seems to me slightly easier when done after dark, perhaps because one can't see the far distance so well so you concentrate on where you're at, rather than where you're not getting to as fast as you'd like. I was noticing this tonight as Jeremy and I biked home from a play at UVic, but I've noticed it many times before. It's obviously all in my head, but is it in other people's heads as well?

I noticed this in the Summer, but that's easily explainable. It was just cooler during the night.

I'd like to think that the darkness just puts us in a happier place so we don't think about the activities we're doing. Same way it's easier to have really deep conversations in the dark.

Little of understanding, little of iron fist. My left calf clamped up HARD and I couldn't even walk down stairs easily for a week, let alone exercise. But then I spent two weeks when I could've on my butt, because I was a bit depressed and out of rhythm. Well past time to get back in, I think I've undone all the good I did with the month of exercise. :-/

i get a charge off the sun. in direct sunlight i'll push harder than usual.

the last time i biked home from uvic in the dark it felt longer, but that's because it actually was longer. i tried to cut through sidestreets and wound up on my way to the ferry.

I am an idiot. I'm sick and I should not have been at the gym this morning. On top of that I took a decongestant along with my energy supplement which is a no-no and I'm suffering dehydration. :-P

Although I haven't been doing workouts, I'm happy about my strength level right now: after buying groceries I was carrying them into the house and got comments about how much I could carry. It's always nice to have a little boost (plus the carrying stuff back and forth probably helped a bit, although it wasn't nearly long enough to be a workout. Since I did the shopping alone I had to stop at one cartful).

I was doing well running last summer and fall, ran my first pair of 5Ks (32 minutes, in case you're wondering), but haven't done a thing since, well, November.

Peer pressure for the win, restarted my account and joined the Runners.

Most smart phones have pedometer apps. 3DS counts your steps.

Pokewalker: level your Pokemon too to get the most for your walk.

Pokewalker is a BAD way to level your Pokemon due to the mechanics. It's so much better to use for rare captures. And well, to measure your steps.

I've had my Pokewalker with me whenever I'm walking for a long time now... just checked, it's at 9999 watts unsaved.

EDIT: Aww, it doesn't save steps over 99990 at once. Oh well. But yeah, it's pretty tough, and has been with me in it's own pocket in the getup I walk in. Overall, it's a pretty good pedometer.

taza, apparently it's great if they're EV trained or something. I don't really know much about Pokemechanics, I just like the idea of a level 100 pokemon raised from nothing but my walking. Although the damned Gastly hasn't evolved yet and it's level 27.

They won't evolve, learn moves properly, they need to be EV trained first, they gain a level at a time... in general, it's a lot of work, and it only takes a bit more work to make them perfect on the game's side without ever touching the Pokewalker.

The Pokewalker is useless for training Pokemon, but it can allow you to find a lot of things you cannot find in the regular game, at least in the amounts you can by using the Pokewalker. Though for most of those you need at least 10000 steps during that day, and probably one of the higher routes. Pikachu with Surf would be one of those that needs one of the previously-downloadable routes and a lot of walking.

And this is a massive derail and should probably end here.
