Gah. Stubbed the crap out of my big toe on Saturday.. went all black and blue and swelled up like crazy... so no running for me for a bit. Thankfully it isn't broken (or at least doesn't seem to be.. I can still manually move it around without crazy pain).

I haven't been moving much, but I'm still progressing. I had a 20 minute workout yesterday, which I know isn't a lot, but I was happy about it (and my thighs hurt from the jump squats). I'm hoping to be reaching the "normal person's starting point" at this point, although I'll make sure to always keep my inhaler on hand.

Logged my first bit of activity which was three sets of 30 jumping jacks during a commercial. Was more or less curious about the mechanics of the log, but I felt like i needed to do something simple to test it out.

Now that I know it works, I'll be working out more and logging more soon.

For those in the UK, the Horizon episode "The Truth About Exercise" with Michael Mosley that I mentioned previously is on tonight.

While not registering any weight loss, I think my bras are fitting better (back to the middle hook again). I might not have to get new ones! Yesssss!

Nice! Go you!

I totally use my bra hooks to evaluate size gain/loss too.

Speaking of weight gain/loss, there is a bit of a mystery here. Let me share 3 facts with you:

1) I have gained 10 pounds since starting fitocracy
2) My clothes aren't tighter so I don't believe I gained fat
3) I don't see any more definition (when I worked out in the past, I got clear definition of my muscles in my shoulders and chest long before I gained weight).

So I'm a bit confused although I figure it doesn't really matter. I'll see if my weight changes (I'm weighing the dog every week to keep track of her growth, so I weigh myself at the same time too).

If anyone has any idea what it could mean though, I'm curious.

Checking in: just under 20 pound total weight loss over the past three months, over 10 of that this month. (down to 235)

ALSO I was finally able to achieve my goal that I have been trying for for the past two weeks Burn more in Cal. in work out than I put in my mouth. My estimated caloric intake was 1300, my two and a half work outs had a burn of roughly 1310.

Grats on the weight loss, Hosk, but I have to say 1300 seems very low, unless you're already short and thin. My doctor told me never to get under 1,600 if exercising and I'm not that tall (and female, so I'm supposed to need less food).

Obviously disregard that if you've already checked things with your doctor. It just seems really low to me.

my regular intake is low but its being well monitored and today was a goal, its not my standard. Im keeping my intake between 1500 and 1800, which is still low but im not SUPER active right now im stuck in an office and on a normal day do low impact cardio for 45-60 minutes. Today I did a little lifting weight, plus 3 hours on the bike and a short jog.

Thanks for the concern though.

You should win but are not guaranteed. You run a lot each time you run but you do not run that frequently. While I have done 50 km weeks that was back in high school when I could run 10 km in 40 minutes.

I want to know how one calculates wind into workout calculations, because let me tell you, riding in that stuff is NOT the same as 20 minutes of moderate speed on an indoor exercise bike, which is clearly what my iPhone app is thinking of. Nor does the app take hills into consideration. Generally I've just been adding an extra 5 minutes to the total amount time I enter, to account for the extra effort.

..also trail conditions, beating sun shine, slipery sidewalks and any number of things that can make runs miserable/harder should include points.

There should also be extra points for running on a defective treadmill that seems dead set on throwing you off at some point during your run. I'm looking at you #3. WTF!?!

Thanks for not getting upset, Hosk :) I know I tend to get nosy when things aren't my business.
Tally, I was going to suggest changing the incline but you say the app doesn't allow for that... I don't know what else you could do than add time.

Fitocracy counts points in a weird way. My latest workout I got more point for my easiest exercise than the three hardest combined. That can't be right.
