Sidebar ads removed?

Postby Metcarfre » 19 Mar 2012, 11:34

I'm guessing it's just temporary, after the 'Awkward Ads' thread, but have sidebar ads been removed for anyone else (I normally get the LRR 'buy our stuff!' ones)?

Oh, hey! I hadn't noticed, but now that you point it out, I can't see a sidebar ad either.
Also went to check why that thread was locked. Kind of sad I missed it now.

On the forums?
I can still see them. On the mainpage too. This actually doesn't have anything to do with that thread.

Ya, the ads have definitely not been removed. Giant Realm might be just having a glitch.

My problem was fixed too, it was an adblock thing. I wonder if when Firefox updates it might lose your unblocked sites or something? I know I unblocked it on this computer before. It's hard to say how long it's been though, as I didn't notice anything until this thread.

I don't use Adblock (but I do use Firefox).

Back at my work compy, sidebar ads missing. Must be at my end. To the best of my knowledge Adblock or anything similar hasn't been installed or activated (FF 11.0 for XP). *shrugs*

perhaps your workplace is blocking ad servers in an attempt to prevent malware. I know that's what my workplace does.

Perhaps they specifically block LRR's provider?
I can put my hands in my head, and I can laugh it in the face.
