I got sucked into MTG through Duels of the planeswalkers 2012 but LRR pretty much made it permanent. I have no time to play any games with all the cards I have these days but I keep collecting more of them D: it's a disease I tell you!!! A DISEASE!!!!

LRR had been doing Magic videos for a while when I went to visit a friend's house. He was getting something from his room when I noticed some boxes of Magic cards in his closet. I was all "Oh hey, I know what that is" and he promptly took the opportunity to indoctrinate me.

LRR did convince me to make an incredibly frustrating multiplayer deck, based on various Jer decks:

1x Island Sanctuary
1x Mystic Decree
1x Panoptic Mirror
4x Curse of Exhaustion

4x Time Warp
4x Force of Will
4x Counterspell
2x Blue Sun's Zenith

4x Jace, the Mind Sculptor

4x Swords to Plowshares
4x Brainstorm
4x Enlightened Tutor

2x Marsh Flats
3x Scalding Tarn
2x Flooded Strand
1x Tundra
1x Hallowed Fountain
4x Glacial Fortress
4x Plains
6x Island

LRR did get me back into MtG as I used to play in high school (back in Kamigawa block). Although LRR has gotten at least one of my friends addicted to it as since watching Friday Nights, he has bought 4 booster boxes.

I'm going to find that deck and burn it. With excessive amounts of fire.
What a horrible night to have a curse.

It's easy to counteract that. Just include four lightning bolts and wait for your opponent to gloat :D

Trixy blames LRR for her MtG addiction. Personally I believe she just used pokemon cards as a gateway game. She's such a nerd.

I think it's helping your addiction a lot, just not in the way you mean :P

By the time he resolves and is on the battlefield, I have priority again, so I can use an ability before you can cast Lightning Bolt. Since the loyalty is added as part of the cost, not the resolution, he's sitting at a safe 5 (2 after the bolt resolves) loyalty, even if you respond to the fateseal by bolting him.

I don't gloat with him, although, back in Zendikar-Scars standard, whenever I'd play against any bad deck (i.e. anyone without Jace), I'd literally ignore the entire rest of my deck and ride Jace to a win with his ult.

It was funny for me, but I'm not gonna lie, it probably made quite a few people mad.

Still, since I have the four set, any non-standard blue deck I build automatically gets 4 (unless it's EDH), because he's just that good.

My wife and I had not played any MtG since about 1997. This year at PAX?

Spent about three hours sorting cards. I DO blame/thank LRR and look forward to testing our brand new decks out tomorrow (well later today) with the crew.

I don't blame LRR.

I blame Wizards for making, and maintaining, such a great game.

Oddly enough I got back into magic right BEFORE It's Magic, so no I don't blame LRR, I blame my own weakness. Curse you me! curse you!

First LRR did It's Magic, and I was curious.
Then I went to PAX East last year and was given a free booster at the LRR meetup.
Then there was Friday Nights, and watching Paul sorting cards pinged my sorting-things OCD.
And the Thursday draft streams that helped me start to understand how the game is actually played.

I bought cards for the first time this weekend. I can't say it was purely because I was hoping for a Bump in the Night.

Yeah, it's 100% LRR's fault, no question.

(I'll probably end up going with MTGO though, because as much as I love owning something tangible, being a non-driver in a town with no public transportation and not having any friends who play means they'd just collect dust anyway...)
