no t doesn't mean we will be revisiting Kamigawa(I mean we still could) but Kamigawa has been the least well received block in a long time.

I really like that card, Blitz, and it has served me well in the past. Don't worry too much about people telling you this or that card isn't that good. They usually mean that in contexts others than the one you'll be playing.

Yes there is a lot of bile for the original morriodin but that's because of of 2 reasons the new card frame(mirriodin was the first set in the current frame) and arc-bound ravager strangling the meta(much like how jtms and stone-forge did).

Kamigawa its self was a very underpowered set(besides sensei's top and jitte) drafting the format was very bland and block constructed was even worse. it was really cool flavour wise but card wise was incredibly boring and stale.

No no, Scars of Mirrodin. Full of infect (About 61 cards, whereas only 13 have first strike to repel it) and the color wheel got all kinds of screwed up by Phyrexian mana (34 cards that are, in effect, non-colour specific) and all sorts. I've not seen people hate a block so much since Homelands.

Meanwhile bitches be lovin' mah ninjas.

I enjoyed Scars a lot and I was definitely NOT an infect player. Not the greatest set in the world, but it was fun. Ravnica, however, I hope super high hopes for. I know they will not reprint Bob (I wish they did, I only have 1, heh). I wonder, what kind of lands will we see? Lesser versions of the pain lands? Soooo looking forward to limited for Ravnica!

I went to FNM, there were 3 people registered but 30 showed up, so I didnt play. I purchased three packs. 2 innistrad 1 DA, I got a foil Sorin, Lord of Innistrad a foil, a Garruk Relentless, and a foil Geist of Saint Traft. I opened them at the counter, and the store owner just stared at me.

I traded him the garruk for all his bumps, 54 reg, 5 (other language), 2 foil in other languages.

I wonder if I can pull all the Illinois bumps.

I wrote that poorly, the garruk was not foil. But still.

I had very similar luck in AK, from the 8 packs I bought up there I think I walked away with about $200 in cards, to the point that one guy paid me a stack of BitN's to pick his FNM Draft packs out of the box. (I think it was sealed not draft...) He didnt do well.

I just got MTGO, and oh god so many misplays. I just lost a game with a spiderspawning deck I drafted when I had them at one health because I accidentally decked myself.

I have a desire to build a Commander deck. A quick search through my collection reveals one legendary creature - Tuktuk the Explorer

It could work, as long as I give him Claws of Valakut, enough Mountains to finish off the opponent in one hit (using the 21 damage rule) and basically bury him in enough armour, equipment and enchantments so that nothing can actually touch him.

I have this image of a goblin wearing enough armour to be like a small hill made of iron, with a little pair of eyes staring out and holding a sword that's about three times the size he is. And completely unable to move.

It could work.

No, not worse as in it would be bad.

Just that it would be the #1 instant death target, forever.

I don't think tuktuk would be much of a target really. At his base he's 3CMC for a 1/1. Not that scary. If he attacks, you can take one point of damage (commander damage I'll grant, but still only 1) or block him and have him a) go to the graveyard instead of back to the command area, giving Geoff a 5/5 that no longer deals commander damage and almost certainly ensuring that Geoff has lost his commander (retrieval not being common in mono red) or b) die, get sent to the command zone and have him become a 5 mana 1/1. I might be missing something but Tuktuk seems like one of the worst potential commanders I can think of.

So as I mentioned in the "who blames LRR" thread my wife and I decided to start playing Magic again after a fifteen year period of not playing primarily because of Friday Nights. We bought many boosters at PAX, built a couple of rudimentary decks and then started watching Graham and James drafting on MTGO. This Friday we went to our local FNM and entered the draft (we both went zero for four with the crappy decks we drafted, but it was a good learning experience.) Now I'm pondering joining MTGO so I can practice drafting and build some virtual decks to test out in a low-stress online environment before going back to get my ass handed to me by people at the store. What do you all think? Worth it to sign up online or should I just learn by getting repeatedly beaten in live competition? Would any Runners want to play online with me?

I believe it was dubbed "The Touch of the Golden Gods?"
